Flowing through asanas can be difficult at times if you are creating your own unique flows. SistersOfYoga Flow-to-Asana challenge is to act as a guide and a way for us to inspire each other. Today’s flow is based off of the hips. I created a beginner friendly one. Keep in mind I sped it up a bit for the gram but you can flow at your own pace. 1 or 5 breathes, whatever you feel you need. Also I love doing chaturanga, but you don’t have to add them in between each side. However, it will help to build up your full body strength and arms. Also you can come down to your knees when doing chaturanga as well, followed by the chest all the way to the floor if you don’t have the strength yet. In each pose try to keep your whole body activated. . . Chair pose Yogi squat Chataranga flow (plank, lower down, inhale lift chest up, exhale down dog ) 3legged down dog (both sides) Warrior I (both sides) Chataunga Forward fold Star Goddess squats . . ✨manifest✨How do you manifest things, make them real? ✨✨✨ For me it’s a combination of a few things. The first factor is positive thinking and positive energy. Allowing myself to be open to it as well as letting it radiate from my being. Letting the energy flow as an ongoing cycle. From me, to me. This is one of the most powerful ways to manifest. By doing this you allow yourself to be open to you deepest needs, ones that you may not even know of until it comes to you. God/ the universe knows. Another way to manifest is with direct visualization. Seeing it with your minds eye as if it has already happened. As if you are having a fond memory looking into the past. Speaking it into existence, tell yourself and other positive souls what you hope to come into being. I tend to not do that too often. I personally prefer to tell maybe 1-2 people, somebody that I feel the energy is right with at that moment. Or I keep it to myself and allow it to manifest within me and only tell others once it has happened. . . How do you manifest? . . Wearing @aloyoga

I started yoga when I was 17 years old. I tried so many other physical activities and nothing ever clicked for me. Not until I discovered a yoga class at my local gym. I loved it so much and felt connected to it and started going to it before school. Yoga helped to calm my mind and balance my feelings. At that time of my life I had a lot of trust issues, hurt, and pain that I never quite addressed, but preferred to push it deep inside of me. Yoga was the first step that I needed to take to make a change in my being. To recognize those feelings within me and let go of what no longer served me. A balance of the mind, body, and soul. I am so proud to be a part of this amazing family that has set out to do so much good. Today we/ @aloyoga launched Alo Gives, a nonprofit that is dedicated to bringing yoga & mindfulness to the world by providing a free curriculum of 5-minute videos to do in the classroom or at home helping to introduce mental & physical skills that are a part of social & emotional learning. Some of you may not know this, but full time I am an elementary school art teacher. These children are faced with just as much stress as us adults. They need a release, an outlet just like we do. I can’t wait to use this curriculum in my own classroom! Together, let’s lower the number of the age everybody starts yoga. Let’s bring yoga to children around the world. How old were you when you first tried yoga or meditation? I am tagging @teahilly @kristy138 @yogamoongirl @brienneyvonne @christina_sutra and challenging you to take a photo & share your story too! Pass it on and spread the word! Help us bring yoga & mindfulness to the world 😊 #alogives

See something, Say something I was at trader Joe's earlier in the week to grab a few things for dinner. I have a bit of a routine; I do my shopping, get myself some flowers then grab a sample of coffee...I actually don't drink coffee but its just this weird routine I have when I go to Trader Joe’s. lol. As I was getting my sample, an older woman behind the counter (Amelia) motioned towards me to tell me, "seeing you with your hair like this is so refreshing, I'm so tired of seeing these young ladies trying to manipulate their hair to be something that it isn't. We need to appreciate our own style of hair, I love seeing your hair free, just as it is..." Ill tell you, these words were so simple, so short, but they made me smile and warmed me from the inside. My hair wasn't really that done and looked a bit messy in my opinion, but to hear somebody speak words that wiped away all of my doubt made me feel amazing. you never know how you are touching somebody, what words reach who. But if you see something, just speak of it, let that person know that you see them. . . Just me basking in my fro

Yoga can be practiced anywhere. One of my favorite places is at home in my bedroom, and this one is inspired by @Ikeausa The bedroom is a sacred space devoted to you, your rest, and quiet thoughts. I love knowing that no matter what time of day I can always practice yoga in my bedroom. It’s a special space to escape the noise of day to day, and recharge. 💗 #ad
