The strongest people I've met didn't have giant muscles. Welcome to Day 1️⃣ of the #ALOhashoulders challenge! 🎉 We’re stoked to be sharing ten days of poses to help you strengthen and stretch your shoulders! ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Day One is Downdog or Adho Mukha Svanasana.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ • In this pose, wrap your shoulders by moving your shoulder blades down your back and forward towards your chest. This will engage your Serratus Anterior muscles - which are on the sides of your ribcage near your underarms. By using these muscles, you take the load off of your upper traps (the ones that are always tense lol). ⁠⠀ • Pull your bottom ribs in towards each other and engage your core so that you aren’t dumping weight into your joints. ⁠⠀ • Spread your fingers and point your middle fingers forward. Engage your hands by pressing into all of your knuckles and fingertips.
