It’s something that we all know, but often forget. It’s the idea of how we process, both within our body and externally. This past weekend, I was reminded by a very special yogi the following: ✨ ✨ 1. We must OBSERVE what’s going on with or around us. 2. We have to learn to ACCEPT whatever is going on in our lives. 3. We must learn to LET GO and graciously release whatever or whomever. ✨ ✨ Thank you @talia_sutra for sharing your gifts with us here in New York this past week & for highlighting how we can continue to grow not just in our practice but as people. 💯 ✨ ✨ 📸: @ljbnyc1 | wearing: @normakamali 🖤 . . #yogainspiration #yogabody #yogamodel #backbends #yogaposes

Every storm that we survive is not something that everyone can see. What we go through is important, but it’s more important to understand WHY we go through certain challenging times. Its never meant to break us, it’s meant to strengthen and teach us about ourselves. For me, I gain so much perspective and strength from sharing my life experiences. Some think I share too much but I believe that I haven’t thoroughly shared enough. I recently wrote a piece, which will be released soon, and it made me think about everything that I’ve gone through up to this point. When I talk about it, it doesn’t even sound normal. I realize though, that being open and honest is not just helping me but it’s helping others. It’s hard to share real life issues but I find it so uplifting and powerful to do so. Life isn’t always rainbows, it can be hard, and it’s nice to feel like someone understands and that you’re not alone 🖤 . . 📸: @ljbnyc1 | wearing: @normakamali . . #yogabody #yogainspiration #backbends #yogaposes #yogagirl

It’s been a unique start to the new year for me but nonetheless a good one. Currently, I’m not working, which is a HUGE transition; scary, daunting, and a little wild to not have a routine centered around a job. All of that aside, I’m taking it in stride and using this time to practice, focus on my health, and really figure out what’s next. I’ve been asking myself a question that is familiar to all of us, what do I really want to do with my life?!? That is such a loaded question, one that can cause extreme anxiety/stress but I’m trying to find peace within my current situation. Im not ignoring my reality, but I know that I can stand confidently, because everything is eventually going to be ok. Uncertainty is a part of life, I control what I can, and release the rest. I’m taking it one day at a time and finding solace in staying positive, focused, and motivated. A new chapter and a new beginning is ahead and that is exciting 🖤🖤🖤 **PS - I love how my head fits right into the sole of my foot in the second photo. I guess that’s standard but it’s fun to see because it never occurred to me before ☺️** . . 📸: @ljbnyc1 | wearing: @vyayama ✨ . . #yogainspiration #yogalife #backbends #vyayama #yogalove

You can’t experience peace when you’re expecting perfection. Surrender your expectation of perfection, and instead, open up your heart to love and acceptance. 🖤🖤 🖤🖤🖤 . . . 📸: @ljbnyc1 | Wearing: @vyayama ✨ . . . #yogagirl #yogainspiration #selflove #vyayama #yogadance

It’s been so much fun for me to highlight on my story a line of products that I’ve incorporated into my daily routine from @freskincare. I love this skincare brand because it’s made for women who work out! Even more exciting is the work that @freskincare is doing to empower women. As we all know, the standards of beauty are changing. Body and skin positivity have reached new heights and it makes me happy to be part of a movement that empowers women. This week @freskincare will be donating 5% of all sales to the @thebodypositive, a non profit to help women feel good in their own skin. Support this beauty revolution and comment below on what beauty means to you! For me, what’s most beautiful is accepting ones self completely. Accepting myself and finding beauty in my “flaws” has been an ongoing journey. I wake up everyday, look in the mirror, and compliment myself in some form or fashion. It might sound silly but those positive affirmations are everything and really go a long way when it comes to building and maintaining confidence in ourselves. Lets celebrate this movement and continue to support it’s growth. Yoga has helped me learn to love and understand my body. In particular, I love my legs, they have built strength and character over the years, and tell a story. Finally getting back into the swing of things since coming back from China and it feels so good. Im over jet lag, took my first yoga class in three weeks the other day, and have finally accepted the fact that Christmas is in three days. All of that aside, it’s also begun to sink in that my last day at my hedge fund is quickly approaching. I’ve been telling myself for months that I need to look for a job, a job that lines up with my passions, and starting January that adventure will commence. I’m a little overwhelmed at the thought but also relieved. Sitting behind a desk all day looking at multiple computer monitors isn’t for me, and while I loved my time working in finance and learned so much, it’s not for me. For the first time I plan on sitting down and really thinking about what I want to do and how I plan to go about doing it. I came back from China renewed, having gained so much perspective, so while its bitter sweet to be leaving my team after six years, it’s definitely the right move for me. I’m excited for this new beginning and can’t wait to see where the universe takes me ❤️🖤❤️🖤 Wearing: @alala @apl @rayban 📸: @montystilson . . . #yogagirl #yogajourney #model #yogalove #yogainspiration

Thank you so much to everyone for your support and positivity throughout my competitive journey. I’ve been thinking a lot about everyone’s comments and one of my best friends, @emmyburns made an interesting point. She highlighted that while the competition and the experience were very significant, that I should also think about “timing” in the metaphorical sense. As soon as she said that I was glad that she had challenged my thought process and made me think about my experience not only deeper but differently. Timing literally and figuratively is everything and something that I’ve been working on. I’m trying much harder to be on time or early for everything and generally speaking I’ve been accessing the timing of events and the people that I meet in my life. I’m a very firm believer in that everything happens for a reason and certain people and events are put in our lives at certain times to teach us something or better yet, challenge us. I needed the experience to happen this way. It brought to the forefront my deserving and capable nature to be at the competition and I connected with some beautiful souls who really made an impact on my journey. The timing of those connections was not only significant but perfect as I begin to think about what I want for 2019. 🖤🔥🖤 📸: @liorsack . . . . #yogafit #yogagirl #yogamodel #yogalove #yogajourney

I’m back room China and words can’t truly express what I experienced over the last week and a half. I will however try to summarize the competition, the reason why I went to China. I did everything pretty last minute; submitted for my visa that Monday, got it back on Wednesday, flew out Wednesday night, arrived Friday morning, and the competition was Saturday. Also, I missed the hotel room block so I didn’t get to stay at the China People’s Palace Hotel aka the “athlete village.” I did however stay at the fabulous @nuohotels, which on the map looked like a 5 minute drive, but was actually an hour with traffic. Needless to say, while overjoyed to be competing, I didn’t exactly set myself up for success based on my bodily needs, which is 100% comprised of rest. All of that aside, I wasn’t nervous. I took the stage and performed a very solid routine, minor hiccup on my SHTK exit but otherwise, it was smooth, graceful, full expressions, but TOO LONG. Timing is an issue that I have had in the past and on my best days I have to be completely cognoscente of timing. So certainly on a day when I’m feeling exhausted, I should have been more aware but I couldn’t pull through my routine fast enough and timed out. I placed 18th out of 40 women having received a zero for my last posture. When I got off that stage, I smiled. I knew that I was out but I was so proud of myself for having come this far. Making it to internationals is not something that I had ever pictured for myself, it was something that I hoped for but never thought that I could achieve. Looking back I realize the importance of my being at the competition. While I was watching the remaining competitors it occurred to me that I deserve to be there and that I am more than capable. A piece of me wonders if that tiny bit of self-doubt got the best of me but dwelling in the past won’t change anything. I realize the importance of letting all of that go because participating in the competition was the most beautiful and enlightening experience, and I fully intend on returning knowingly capable, confident, and with zero self-doubt🖤🖤🖤🖤📸: @liorsack #athlete #yogamodel #yogalove #yogagirl #yogapractice

I’m leaving for China tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited. In all honesty, it finally kicked in last night after my yoga class @bodenyc that I’m really going and competing amongst an international class of yogis. I’ve been very mellow and a bit timid in the weeks leading up to this trip. With a ton of thoughts on my mind and personal things that I need to work on I’ve been focusing my energy elsewhere. Despite all of that, while not physically putting in the training hours, I’ve been focusing a lot on breathing, opening up my heart, staying mindful, and talking about things with those closest to me. With those things on the forefront of my daily agenda, life feels more manageable and enjoyable. I’m relaxing more, staying present, and enjoying everyday. I have so much to be thankful for and this trip to China is really going to the most wonderful experience to conclude my year. I’ve been writing a lot recently as a way to build my awareness and recently I wrote that this upcoming competition weekend isn’t about winning, but enjoying the experience, and being proud of myself for coming this far. I just need to have faith and confidence in myself and let the universe take care of the rest. It’s been such a long journey for me of ups and downs but I’ve built so much strength and I just need to let go of expectations and do my best to stay true to myself. Thank you everyone always for your kind and encouraging words, it means a lot to me and definitely check out my story vibes over the next week to see what I’m up to in China 🇨🇳 😉 ✨✨HUGE shout out to @vyayama for the amazing outfit vibes for my trip, can’t wait to rock everything!!!!! 🔥🖤 . . . . 📸: @jpzimage Dress: @ganni #yogagirl #balletyoga #yogamodel #yogainspiration #yogajourney
