I broke through a goddamn wall today. I have been hating life with jerks lately. It's been a mental battle for weeks now trying to hit 63kg. It's nothing I've never hit before, that's about the weight I was going for a the last competition. But I think my own constructive criticism got in my head and I lost confidence. All of a sudden 63kg was a nemesis weight. I've been playing around with all of my positioning: weight displacement in the dip, and a wider split in the catch to accommodate my long legs and allow myself to get a bit lower. All that paired with a little extra determination got me a solid 63kg C&J today. Almost cried, honestly. I don't even care that I didn't get the double. ✨Recipe for simple sauce with carrot I made this as an addition to rice and beans and a way to get some veggies in.. . . I'm trying to still add in veggies to most of my meals while on our trip. It can be hard to eat mindfully while on a trip and out of routine 🙏🏽🙏🏽 . . 💥Do you try to eat mindfully on trips or you don't really think about that on a trip or vacation?? . . Ingredients 1 cup of cubed beef (mine was already cooked) or in my case it was about 8 medium sized pieces of Nigerian beef (jagafa said you need strong jaws to eat it 😂😂) I have strong jaws. 1 cup beef stock 2 cups chopped carrot 3 fresh tomato diced into cubes 1/4 red onions diced into cubes 1 bouillon cube 1 habanero (optional) . . Direction In a heated pan add the already cooked beef with the beef stock Add the chopped carrot, onion and tomatoes. Allow to cook without covering the pot on high heat for upto 5 mins Add the bouillon cube and habanero Mix well and cook until the sauce is reduced. It should no longer be watery and the carrot will be soft. Serve over rice or however you prefer. . . Tip: Having some cooked beef or chicken in the freezer and defrosting and using it for this sauce could be a great way to cook during the week without doing so much. You could also just use some frozen veggies that you don't have to cut up which will save you lots of time. My fave frozen veggie is from costco (is the one that has broccoli, different colors of carrot, mushroom, bell peppers and some other veggies). . . Happy Tuesday 💗💗💗

💪💥Looped resistance bands are a fantastic training tool to have. They offer unique variable resistance, they are versatile, inexpensive, take up very little space, reduce chances or injuries, can offer both assistance and resistance, great for recovery, and easy on the joints, just to name a few of the benefits.⠀ ⠀ 🤜Today we look at using a resistance band for performing a standing chest press. This exercise hits the chest, shoulders and triceps. If you don’t have access to a bench press or just want to change things up it can be a great option. You could even use it as a warm-up before bench press or add it in after your bench to get a good pump.⠀ ⠀ 👉Anchor a looped band to an attachment and then stand inside the band, from here step forwards with a split stance. You will need to lean forwards as the band will pull you back, be sure to maintain this position. Make sure to place the band on top of the elbows as shown in the video so it doesn’t slip off.⠀ ⠀ 👉From here think about keeping the elbows slightly tucked as you would when properly performing a bench press. Press all the way forwards squeezing the chest at the end. Perform for desired reps and sets; this is a great exercise to perform for higher repetitions.

😣 It's 2019 and I still see stupid shit being done on the bosu ball at gyms. ⠀ ⠀ The bosu ball is like a half physio ball with a base on it, it was developed in 1999 by David Weck. He originally created it to help himself with lower back pain, it then became a popular training tool for 'instability' training. ⠀ ⠀ 👉 For a few certain things the bosu ball can be beneficial, but generally speaking the way the bosu ball is often are used in gym settings only makes you better at training on a bosu ball with very little (if any) carryover to most peoples goals. It also can be a way to get yourself injured if you decide to use it for circus acts🤦⠀ ⠀ 👉More than likely, for most peoples training goals, there are much better, safer ways to get to where you want to go.
