This morning was rough- mommying was hard, adulting was hard.... then we had to go grocery shopping and it just screwed up my plans for running. Finally after putting all our new fridge and freezer loads away (most was thrown out) I told the kids let’s go! We did our route, once forward once backward. I pounded the pavement and just listened to myself. It’s not the 4 I originally wanted but 2 strong miles to keep me sane. Sometimes I forget to love myself, I look in the mirror everyday and the first thing I do is find a flaw, whether it’s fat, acne, my eyebrows, stretch marks, my mommy pooch, etc.. After camping I got a bit burned on my face and I spent all day feeling self conscious about it since I usually don’t wear makeup. "Is Your Gut Keeping You From Burning Fat?" Of course I had to read that article, right? 😳 "Have you been eating clean and killing it at the gym but feel like you’ve hit a fat loss plateau? If so, your gut health might be out of whack!" We have many different types of gut bacteria, and they play different roles in affecting our health. But some are more desirable than others, and when they get out of balance, it can cause problems that clean eating and exercise can't fix by themselves. 😜 The "bad" bacteria can cause cravings for sugar and carbs, make it easy to gain weight, but hard to lose, and make it difficult to gain lean muscle. 🍦🎂🥞🍪🍫😭 But, if the good bacteria are running the show, they can improve metabolism, digestion, and even decrease ghrelin levels...I always tell my nursing students that's a hormone like gremlins...it tells your body, "Feed me! Feed me!" 😂 So, while eating a healthy diet and getting exercise are really important, if you're not getting the results you want, it could have to do with your gut bacteria, and a probiotic could help! But the reverse is also true... "You can’t sit on the couch eating junk food, take a probiotic every day, and then expect to drop 20 lbs." Their words, not mine...but I have said them myself, so...🤷 This has been on my mind a lot because I have talked to so many people recently who are frustrated with trying to lose weight... dealing with health issues, menopause, sugar cravings, and trying to do all the right things but not feeling like anything is helping. 😟 I truly believe it's not a lack of willpower or a defective metabolism or bad genes. The more I read and study gut health, the more I see how it's all tied together, and until we get to the root cause, it'll be like trying to roll a ball uphill only to have it roll right back down. 😭 Maybe you've lost weight only to gain it all back again, maybe the scale won't budge no matter what you do, maybe you've tried extreme weight loss methods that you can't sustain for a lifetime. BG Method 2of2 @ 365 lbs. thing is it wasn’t as low as i wanted. I felt it and did not make it all the way down. But i was using 365 lbs as a prime. Its called PAP Training. And it worked because next sets were at 355 lbs. new PR!! Although i did feel like the 355 should have been way easier. Think the three days off was a bit much. Should have only took one day. It was daughter’s weekend so she’s first inline for my time. Squats had to wait. Lol.🏋️‍♀️ Squats errDay!!. “Progress, NOT perfection!” <—Preach it, and say it loud for the people in the back! It is so easy to get wrapped up in comparing yourself to where someone else is at on their journey. You might feel like you are so far away from where someone else is, and get deterred from even attempting to go for a similar goal. Everyone starts in a different place, and everyone progresses at a different pace. There is no such thing as perfect. When you let go of that belief, the more enjoyable the journey will be! You can then begin to celebrate all of the small steps along the way that are getting you closer to a much larger goal! Less pressure when you celebrate each small step forward instead of JUST celebrating when you actually reach that bigger goal. The important thing is that you START. Start exactly where you are right NOW. You absolutely CANNOT progress towards a goal if you don’t do anything about it. Whether it is a weight loss goal, a sleep goal, a nutrition goal, a new career goal, etc., you just have to START moving forward and NEVER EVER GIVE UP! Who’s going to stop striving for perfection and began to embrace the mistakes and set backs, and CELEBRATE the baby steps forward?!
