It can be overwhelming, there is a constant bombardment on your nervous system as we move thru our lives, and this isn’t even taking into account your daily grind. This is why incorporating yoga into your life is so important. It helps us manage our stresses, it resets the body and its systems, and it brings us peace. Adho Muka Savasana is good for decreasing anxiety. This pose also helps you relax and calms your mind, thus reducing anxiety. I love being strong , it’s my main jam , feeling that I’m strong enough to stand alone defend myself if necessary and so on is my thing. Rishikesh, India - you probably all think I am working hard here in India, doing my yoga teacher training, but really, it's mostly just hanging out with some ropes, with a weekly excursion thrown in, to make sure we experience life outside the school as well... Yeah, I'm totally kidding. The training is great, but with only 1 day off per week and 2 daily, hour and a half, intense yoga lessons, there's a lot of sore muscles going round. Then there's the rest of the lessons, meditation, philosophy (so far just Indian religion), mantra chanting and our morning ritual of pouring lightly salted water through our noses (jala neti). All in all its an intense course, but we are learning and experiencing lots!

I can see a lot of room for improvement, but I have more range of motion than I was expecting! I am excited to see what else this challenge brings. do you utilize cannabis for any of your practices? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ whether it’s physical, spiritual, mental, it has definitely helped me along my life journey. one of the greatest benefits I find with using cbd before my physical yoga practice is how it helps me ground and connect with my breath. I’ve experienced anxiety for many years and it’s the kind where there is constant, incessant chatter in my mind. no matter where I am, what I’m doing, or who I’m with, my brain is going a hundred miles an hour. cbd has been a huge catalyst in my ability to manage my anxiety. breathwork used to sometimes drive me deeper into my spiral of panic because I’d be too concerned about how I’m breathing - is it too loud? can others hear me? do they mind? do I sound weird? am I annoying everyone around me? and on and on and on..... cbd has helped to calm both my mind and body, allowing the connection between them to flow with ease. breathing exercises are so important to me now. my practice always starts with a grounding prayer or meditation, followed by as many deep breaths as I need that day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I uploaded a full version of this flow on my IGTV (it’s much slower, only 1.5x the original speed) - if you watch it and enjoy it please let me know! i love my husband. i love that he is always there to take my hand and walk beside on whatever journey i am taking. this morning we chose to do yoga together as a “rest day” from the gym. it was hard, haha! but having him next to me, going through the motions the best he could (he is the most inflexible person i know! 🙈) helped me to keep breathing and pushing on 🧘🏼‍♀️i am so happy and grateful to have this guy on my team! #yogapartners #husbandandwifeteam #charlottegetsfit #buckleup

Society is funny because there are these unwritten rules of things we’re suppose to do to make us feel empowered or comfortable in our own skin... We don’t realize that those rules are different for every single person. I personally love throwing on my favourite shirt 👆🏽🐺 and @morgainz_collection leggings and it’s makes me feel so empowered. Being comfortable in the things I love to wear is exactly what I require to feel good about myself. I also know females that like to show some skin and they’ve never felt more confident in their lives. I love having days where I don’t wear makeup and feel 🔥 af, but I also love the days where my winged eye liner actually cooperates and looks 🔥. WERE ALL DIFFERENT. You don’t have to follow “society’s rules” because every person you try to follow will have different rules set in stone. It’s the same case for health and wellness. 👉🏽you don’t need to go to the gym 6x a week 👉🏽 you don’t have to only have a cheat meal once a week 👉🏽you don’t have to avoid drinking 👉🏽you don’t have to bulk or cut 👉🏽you don’t have to count macros The list goes on and on..but we start to stray away from our own beliefs and base them off of someone else’s. There are so many ways to approach a healthy lifestyle and it’s seriously different for every person. Sometimes counting macros can be too stressful because you get obsessed with portion sizes or avoiding “bad” food all together (been there) Sometimes going to the gym 6x a week is unrealistic because you beat yourself up way too much over missing one day because life happened (been there) Sometimes you get caught up in the fad of whether people are bulking or cutting and you’re honestly not sure how or where you start (BEEN THERE) Finding a balance for you that makes YOU live your happiest life is step one. Following someone else’s life and how they plan to get healthy is taking you in the wrong direction. ——————————————- So what benefits you mentally and physically for your own well being ?
