Less than a month ago, we decided we wanted to sell our home and move. The realization that I’m tired of our house hit me like a bus, with no warning signs. I’m tired of the neighborhood & I’m tired of the space. I’m tired of having been there for 2.5 years already. 🏡 And then it occurred to me that since I moved out at 18, I haven’t been in one spot for more than 1.5 years. I’m far from a nomad, but I definitely have a restless spirit and that effects my ability to lay down roots. So we want to sell our house and then do... what? Rent. I want to go back to renting. Does that sound sorta backwards? Don’t people rent & then buy? Renting comes with very little commitment— we can pack up & leave again when I outgrow this spot as well. 🦅 Sometimes the fear of “commitment” I faced in my younger (more reckless) years shows up in weird ways now— like my aversion to staying in one living location for too long. Change is never what has scared me— becoming too dormant in the same place & the same situation is what terrifies me. . So yesterday was move in day and it was one of the most trying, stressful days of my life. I ended up crying a lot and taking a few minutes here and there to try to calm down on my mat 😬 . . .

Yogi Tip: (if you’re not a yogi)⁣ ⁣ 🧘🏼‍♀️ this is Andrea and she’s one of my favourite flavours of yoga. ⁣ ⁣ I hear people say “yoga is not for me” often, and though there’s many reasons why one of the main reasons is this:⁣ ⁣ You haven’t found a teacher who’s rocked your world. ⁣ ⁣ Yoga is like ice-cream. There’s so many different flavours and not only that, but there’s so many different brands out there slinging your favourite flavour. ⁣ ⁣ Just like you might like a certain ice-cream, you probably prefer a certain ice-cream brand. ⁣ I was lucky. My first teacher was the talented teacher in this photo Andrea King. She rocked my #%^ing world. She had be opening, crying, swearing and unfolding all at once. She is a powerfully aware teaching with epic cueing to take any persons yoga practice to the next level (even if you’re starting at level 1 or 0)⁣ ⁣ Not all yoga teachers are going to light your world up.⁣ ⁣ Not all yoga classes are going to be your peanut butter and jam. ⁣ ⁣ So I encourage to sample from the ice cream counter before you write off yoga for good. ⁣ ⁣ I’ve been to some classes that made me want to walk out over my years and maybe if I had started there I may not have given yoga a chance. But knowing what I know now I want to encourage you to try and find a guide and teacher that gets you lit up to hop onto the mat just like Andrea did (and still does though she’s 3500kms Away) for me.

Rainy afternoons = meditative movements in the dark⚡️ - 38 weeks tomorrow and to say I’m getting antsy is definitely an understatement. But I have a feeling she’s like me...she doesn’t want to feel rushed or pressured, just encouraged and supported. So here I am drinking raspberry leaf tea, taking evening primrose oil, and doing all the hip openers to continue to encourage her in the right direction. I can feel she’s gotten lower but I’m not getting my hopes up. As long as she comes on her own, I’ll be happy. However if she wants to come sooner rather than later I wouldn’t be upset at all! - Side note: Craig felt her foot last night and immediately went “THAT’S A HEEL!” and freaked out. He’s loved me being pregnant and thinks it’s all amazing...until he sees Caspia acting like an alien trying to break out.😅 - What are your guesses? You think she’ll come early (within the next week or so) or late? I'm trying to practice yoga in the garden as much as possible recently because the extreme hot days from the heat wave this summer are gone and I don't know how many warm days there are going to be this year since it's almost autumn already, so the current temperature is not too hot and not too cold and I wanna use it to practice outside.😁👌🏼 (Ps. I have no idea what I was doing with my shoulders during 'cow' in cat-cow! That is just awful, but honestly didn't feel as uncomfortable as it looks.😬😂)

My name means "appreance of God" in Greek, so how could I ever feel like anything less!? It's true that I am moving more and more into alignment with my needs which naturally moves me less into Giving a fuck what you think about me and more into seeing you as an appearance of God too. I am so used to being "pleasing" because I grew up in the south, and 'that's just what women do' haha. I am being way more disruptive these days, and actually stepping into my Power. The power to lead with heart and not need to be bullish or bitchy to prove I am capable. I am moving more and more into my heart which makes me more loving, vulnerable, and honest. I wanted to do a post about how doing a #handstand is such a great way to get you feeling all freshed up when you’re working - but I haven’t even managed to turn on my computer today - just up here on the rooftop procrastinating with handstands - so what do I know 🤦‍♀️😂 BUT I do have one good point with this post anyway 😊 - something I got from @gabrielle_edwards_yoga and it goes like this: when #handstanding just follow the ease! Obviously it not a cue that’s useful for first time #handstanders - but if you’ve been handstanding for a while it might be helpful. So instead of clawing the mat, hugging the arms, lifting through the shoulders, extending the tailbone, hugging the legs, I just imagine my bones stacking; gravity falling through my body, toes floating towards the sky. And suddenly it feels quite easy. Like standing really - just upside down 🙃🤸‍♀️ Let me know if it makes sense to you - might just be me and @gabrielle_edwards_yoga feeling this one 😂 . . . . #straighthandstand #inversionlove #handstandplay #upsidedown

Yoga for tight hips!🏃🏽‍♀️I posted another sequence for hip flexibility earlier this month but there’s no such thing as having too many hip openers tbh🤷🏻‍♀️ . 💺Stretching your hips will help reverse the negative effects of sitting throughout the day and might help releive lower back pain. . ☝🏼In addition to that if you’re working towards your dancer pose, mermaid pose, camel pose, grasshopper pose etc. this sequence will be very helpful in preparing your muscles for these poses 😊 . .
