There is soooo much work behind the scenes of a 200-hour yoga teacher training. ⠀ From choosing the place, the food requirements, making sure the shala has the necessary equipment, transportation...⠀ One of our most highlighted prerequisites is that the location is right by the beach. It is so important for the students to take a dive in the sea during their break, to refresh body+mind. ⠀ Our next TTC by the beach is in Corfu Island, in the Northwest coast of Ionian Sea. Good morning, happy new week and welcome to Day 2 ( I am posting with one day in advance). Gallery is already hot 🔥!!!! . Just in the opening of Ashtanga series, within Surya Namaskara A & B, we practice this asana 20 times. If you practice Ashtanga, between each asana, there is a vinyasa, where there is one more. So this is probably the backbend that lots of us practice quite a lot. Here the pelvis is way off the floor, also the alignment is wrists under shoulders. Bring the rib cages forward and up, bring the chest through the arms, making all muscles of the back to open on this move! The pelvis here being of the floor gives you more space to lift and to intensifying the bend. Remember to breath deeply, creating space on the rib cages. Use the hands which are firmly planted on the floor to bring energy into the asana, helping the spine to extend. I choose this quote for a reason: we do this posture as part of vinyasas - so it is really important that we breath correctly! The breath, and the breath itself will allow you to extend the spine, vertebrae by vertebrae. You need to be conscious of this connection breath/movement. Make your mind AWARE.
