This week was Guru Poornima. A celebration of the Guru. Guru means that which removes darkness and ignorance. A guru is a special kind of teacher who removes ignorance by illuminating the intelligence on the true nature of reality. Guru can be a person and there are many examples of individuals who are the Guru to a great number of followers. My Guru is Swami Niranjananda, Satyananda, Sivananda and the lineage of Satyananda and Sivananda Yoga. Guru can also be a non physical influence, much like an element such as fire, water, air or earth. This is Guru Tattwa. Guru Tattva can present itself in your life in many ways. A moment of clarity or perspective is Guru Tattva. A difficult interaction with a colleague or customer which allows you to learn something more about yourself and your conditioned response to a challenge. This is Guru Tattva. A friend who always leaves you uplifted and more responsive to the day to day. This is Guru Tattva. The essence of Guru. Don’t be deluded however. Guru will present to you when you are ready. Ignoring their presence, imagining a self serving guru or constantly searching for the next guru, will just perpetuate ignorance. Guru Tattva is your lesson, delivered when you are ready. Blessure, performance, obsession du corps, douleur... voilà dans le désordre ce qu’elle m’évoquait avant de rencontrer @patrick_frapeau. Avec beaucoup de patience et d’humour Patrick a déconstruit une à une mes idées reçues. Sans langue de bois, il m’a raconté son histoire, la façon dont il a été initié à L’Ashtanga et comment il enseigne cette pratique aujourd’hui. L’Ashtanga est une pratique exigeante . Assuiduité et rigeur sont des conditions sinequanone pour s’initier, Patrick ne nous fait pas miroiter un programme de développement personnel rapide et efficace. Sur ce point il a été très direct. Mais grâce à ses talents de conteurs j’ai aussi appris beaucoup sur l’histoire de cette pratique, sur ce que notre pratique du Yoga révèle de notre tempérament et sur la façon d’interprêter la douleur. C’est simple, j’aurais pu l’écouter pendant des heures. C’est d’ailleurs ce qui a bien faillit se passer lors de l’enregistrement du 2ème épisode 🙈.
