It’s even tougher if the blocks get stacked higher by your kiddos! - The boys remind me to laugh every day and make time for play. Working on this new exercise with @movement_therapist , to strengthen my piriformis which will help to balance my left rotated pelvis whenever I’m upside down. I’m super awkward here which is always the case whenever I’m doing a new movement. Novelty and variety in movement is a good stimulus to the brain. ___ Looks like a very simple movement but so effective. Isolating the strengthening to this weak spot is helpful because it helps to restore body awareness and bring connection to the body which helps in bigger movement. Quoting from @jenni_rawlings , “If we lack the skill in the smaller movements, then those bigger movements will not be able to offer us the full benefits or potential. A small movement does not mean the movement is basic. Small movements are more advanced movement work we can do.”

Did you know that certain body postures can give you a boost in mood and confidence? Studies have shown that an open-chest, elevated hands, and a smile can improve your outlook. ⠀ Well I wish I would have remembered that today. I felt defeated and frustrated during my workout and it didn’t get better after taking that left picture. But it’s the same body as the right one and both are great THEY ARE BOTH FINE! The difference is my posture and how I viewed myself. ⠀ Sometimes you need to hack yourself and it’s certainly not too late for me to turn my day around. I’m going to stand tall, puff up my chest, and smile. And maybe booty pop at the copier.
