It’s amazing how a simple daily self-care ritual can help you deal with challenges and provide the tools to keep a positive outlook on life. I start the day with a cup of green tea. I only grab my phone to play music. Then it’s straight to the mat where I unwind and challenge myself in my flow. This week I’m showing you guys some of my favorite poses that I do daily. Here’s Prayer Squat also known as namaskarasana in Sanskrit 👈🏾 this name 🤔 I had to go to Google translate just to figure out how to pronounce it! What a treat is it to take a wonderfully diverse group of yogis to remarkable places around the world. 9 different nationalities on this retreat and a huge spectrum of backgrounds, ages and yoga experience. Shame they’ve got a teacher that ruins each beautiful piece of scenery with a pose! Plenty more planned for 2019 and we’re currently planning 2020, so stay tuned!

Having my elbows down, isn’t my preferred method of lizard pose. Why? If you are flexible enough to get your elbows down (via hip opening, not upper back curving), then you are then limited by the length of your upper arm bones. The chest can’t go deeper, because your humerus is in the way! If you stay on the fingertips and gradually walk your hands away however, more space and depth may become available. if I was going to be here for a while though, I’d probably go for this option 🤟 . 📷 @yogaandphoto wearing @ohmmeapparel (ambassador)

When I first started doing yoga there was nothing graceful about my flow. This pose 👆🏾upward bow (wheel) known as Urdhva Dhanurasana in Sanskrit - I could only hold for a few seconds. I quickly realized it was FEAR holding me back. Like so many things in my life, I let fear guide instead of love and trust for myself. I had the strength, a flexible back, but I feared my arms would collapse and I’d look silly. Now with fear aside, this has become one of my favorite poses. #iamjamezb

Wednesday morning It starts to scare me and also comfort me at the same time when you're ready for a problem and can pretty gently steer it aside. When is your faith growing to the point when you can just be yourself and know that God has the rest? I like walking into a day where I can feel like this is day 1 and the last day all at the same time. Now we all know every day isn't like that. It's probably not possible. But asking God to change your attitude towards a particular day you are dreading can have a miraculous result. It's a good time to live your life without fear. A time to live our lives as if there was very little to hold back. When are we going to start living our lives and not just planning to live them? Workshop Alert 👉 Next one is Sunday 10th March, 4.30pm @triyogauk Chelsea and it’s ‘The Architecture is Arm Balances and Inversions’. After that I’m at @_flow.yoga Belfast 23/24 March and @yogavibesofia Sofia 30/31 March 👉 Let’s talk about the next one- What is the workshop about? . Those ‘cool’ looking inversions and arm balances that you spot people popping out in the studio and social media, they don’t just magically happen one day. Flailing and throwing yourself around won’t necessarily get the result you want; unless what you want a 1 second video of you upside down. . Each arm balance, inversion, and transition can be gradually worked towards via; repeated drills, an awareness of developing both strength and flexibility in regular practice, and the growth of a technical understanding of the asana. . What can I expect? . We’ll be exploring various arm balance families, forearm balance and handstand. . What will I gain from the workshop? . Through this strong vinyasa based workshop we’ll be: . - Learning which muscles need to wake up and engage to move towards certain asanas. . - Working on drills to help make them stronger. . -Exploring how executing ‘easy’ asanas with integrity can significantly improve your ability to explore more challenging poses. . -Who is it for? . This workshop it suitable for anyone with a regular practice, though it will be a strong practice!

[ Yogamoov, le yoga de l'anatomie ] 💀 . Il y a des yogas plus axés sur la philosophie, les diverses méthodes de relaxation et autres concepts spirituels... Le Yogamoov est un yoga occidental, orienté vers le placement, le juste alignement du corps dans chaque asana. On y parle beaucoup de la bio-mécanique, d'anatomie, de ce qu'il faut faire ou ne pas faire...👩🏽‍🏫 . Le fait de se concentrer sur notre corps, nos sensations, notre placement, permet : 1️⃣ De rester dans le moment présent et arrêter de penser à hier, demain, pourquoi, comment, quand, qui, quoi, ou... 🤯 2️⃣ De créer une connexion entre son corps et son esprit ( qui vivent malheureusement séparés par le mental depuis des milliers d'années 😢) 3️⃣ De se concentrer aussi sur le souffle lié au mouvement, et donc de méditer 🙏🏼 . Donc voilà, il existe des types de yoga pour tous les goûts et toutes les couleurs. Le Yogamoov s'inspire des yogas type Iyengar, ou encore d'Indra Devi qui a été la première à proposer un yoga sans enseignement bouddhiste pour les occidentaux, plus axé sur la conscience de son corps. Mais il s'inspire aussi des connaissances issues de la technique en danse, du stretching postural, de la kinésithérapie... 🧘🏽‍♂️
