Over the last few weeks I’ve become a touch obsessed with getting a minimum 7 hours sleep a night. I’ve always known that it’s pretty obvious we thrive on sleep, but on reading Matthew Walker PHD’s latest book, the ‘why’ we need it and what happens if we don’t, has really hit home. Plank pose is another one of my favorites for really opening the upper body and open my heart. When the chest opens, we allow more love and compassion to flow through us. How to do it: Start from staff pose - seated with the legs straight out in front. Bring the hands to both sides of body, slightly behind the hips, with the fingertips pointing forward. On inhale, lift the hips up toward the ceiling, squeezing the tailbone up, and pulling the shoulder blades back. Aim to keep both legs straight the the soles of the feet on the floor. Optional: Drop the head back and continue to pull the shoulders back.

I got into this accidentally bc the pose I was trying just wasn’t happening that day. Mistakes are proof that you’re trying though, and sometimes those mistakes turn out just wonderful 🤷🏻‍♀️

Woahhh Tips today by @robinmartinyoga⠀ 👆 The block I’m using is placed under my hamstring right at the insertion at the sit bone (ischial tuberosity). With this support, I can ease into a deeper stretch on my breath. The strap assists in opening my shoulders. Reaching over the top with both arms to grab the foot means a deep internal shoulder rotation. It’s easier to control the depth of the stretch with the strap. And finally, I have a pad under my back knee. When someone you trust, love and feel secure around, turns his head. . . . Feels like everything around us is crumbling. That's challenging, that's really is !! (And when I am typing this there are tears in my eyes), it's painful . . . . . This situation puts everything into question, what we've been striving for? What we've been trying to build together? . . . . . but again , ask questions, if you don't matter to someone, that was an illusion !! Nothing was real. Right? Agree, we all have questions in our head at that time!! But you can't explain your side , when other person doesnt want to hear ! . . Firstly, Its not your mistake! Secondly, Accept reality!
