How can we use our practice as a way to deal with everyday needs? How can we combat anxiety (manifesting in the mind and body) through yoga? Join Rod and I @kripalucenter for a practical (but also fun) workshop that will address all of this! ✨ Learn simple sequences to release stress, focus your mind, balance your body, and listen deeply. We’ll hone our practice to help in minimizing fear and maximizing grounding in the present moment. We'll release the illusionary bonds that fatigue us and hold us hostage and then relax to the present unfolding. Moving Into Alignment With Yoga Therapy- When I began my “50 year tune-up” four years ago, my pelvis was twisted, several areas in my spine were congested, my neck was a mess and the muscles 💪 along the left side of my spine were underdeveloped, shorter and tighter than my right side. (Probably from being right handed and playing sports, like tennis, that develop more of the right side.) This is another reason I am a big fan of cultivating a daily home practice. If I were to go to yoga classes I would have been exacerbating these issues, by going deeper on the easier side when I needed to focus on going deeper on the more challenging side. I needed to take time to bring my body back into balance and focus on developing the weaker areas and doing postures that would, over time, bring my body back into alignment. For instance, in the beginning, many of the postures I would do only on the more uncomfortable side. Then gradually, day by day, my body began to find more structural and muscular balance. I began to feel better blood flow and circulation to various organs (crazy, huh?). I still do my “yoga therapy” first thing every day. This posture in the picture is a good example. It opens and activates my left spinal erector and neck muscles, while twisting my pelvis to the left. When you take time to listen to your body it will tell you which sides are tighter. How can you tell if the pelvis is twisted? Lie on your back, settle in, and then take a look a your feet, and if one is flopping out to the side more, than is a good indicator that the pelvis is twisted. If you can, work with a yoga therapist to support you developing a home practice that will give your bod the tune-up it needs. All the yoga 🧘‍♀️ postures can work to bring the body back into alignment.

Good morning.😊 . Day 4 is #shoelacepose. I added eagle arms to hide my struggling face. 😑😊 . Ok, it's not that bad, but it feels like it and I really have to breathe deep to get through with enough smiles... In German we say: "Was ist dir denn über die Leber gelaufen?", when something is bugging you. . Liver meridian is activated in this pose. So make sure to remember where your rising emotions are coming from. Keep breathing. Smile! 😊 . Obviously I don't practice this pose too often. 🙈 . Today I ended up with a migraine and feeling pretty yucky. But instead of reaching for the drugs, I instead practiced Mahasir Mudra, while lying and gently breathing for around 15mins. Now, no more headachey yuckiness! I’m always happy to be able to say bye-bye to nasty chemicals and all their side effects and use my own self for healing. It’s also a reminder of how powerful we really are when we allow ourselves to be our own healers! Do you practice Mudra? 🙏👌🤟🤲☝️💕

🌟Mabel🌟 Some may know my journey, others may not - well here is a small snippet into that story. Whilst I would not say I never had a maternal instinct, I guess it’s part of the female DNA. I never longed for a child of my own, I think I just knew deep down that I would be a mother to many in some way. I have the privilege of being an Auntie to Ashton and adopted Auntie to many. Children light up my world, but I didn’t really ever feel the urge to create my own. Until it was taken away from me. It was in that moment that I felt hurt with the fact that I was going to miss out on birthing my own child. However, I take it all as a gift. A gift that I can continue to share my story to help others, a gift that I am still here to be able to shine my light and a gift that I can continue my work with children. They are our future and they need our guidance to help create a more conscious and connected life. Mabel is a part of this work and we have big plans together! Speaking of listening to your body~ I was injured in a car accident a few months ago. Before the accident I would do 100, squats, leg lifts, dips, and pushups every morning. • • • One might say this is motivated discipline. I say it was psychotic. I would do this relentlessly in fear that if I didn’t I would instantly turn into an out of shape blob. I would do it to the point of hurting my body. Even once I was injured. I pushed it until I was in so much pain I couldn’t do day to day activities without crazy pain! I backed off and just started doing yoga instead. Slowly building my practice. • • • I’ve become so used to pushing myself as hard as I can and I have a subconscious belief system that doing this will somehow meet the bar of my own insane standards. The key is balance between pushing yourself enough but knowing your limits and honoring them. • • • #retrainyourbrain

Inversions oh how I've missed you!! It felt so good to get back upside down today and move my body. After being bed bound for a while I had started to go a little crazy, my body felt stiff and heavy, I also noticed my stress levels going up and my sleep taking the hit so I knew today I had to get on my mat whether it be for an hour of restorative slow movements or fast flow and headstands, either way I knew it would help. As my body started moving it took on a life of its own, I let it flow and do what felt good which ended up being a mix of the both practices. Listening to my body was exactly what I needed 🙏🏼 Yoga I love you 🙏🏼 #thankyou #yogailoveyou #happydays #listentoyourbody
