I felt like I was able to really stretch my vertebra out when pressing my spine towards the ceiling to try to get a nice curve with the pose. Day 4 of #ColourMeTheYogaWay & we explore the 4th Chakra - Anahata Chakra or the Heart Chakra. It's situated in the center of the chest & it is the seat of the Divine Self (Atma). It governs the divine qualities of the heart, such as bliss, peace, harmony, love, understanding, empathy, clarity, purity, unity, compassion, kindness, forgiveness & spirituality. Going up in stages. Urdhva Danurasana 🌈Bow pose🌈 🌞Stage one Lift hips, focus on hands and feet, since they will launch you into the pose. Pull your shoulder blades up and pull the muscles of your back into your body. Exhale then lift your torso and buttocks off the ground. Breathe evenly ☀Stage two Lift your chest and place the crown of your head on the floor. Distributed weight evenly between hands and feet. 🎉🎉Stage three Push body further upwards, pressing down through the soles of your feet and palms, lift your head off the floor. Exhale and pull your spine into your body. Straighten your arms, lock in the elbows. Take the head back without straining your throat. Hold for 5-10 seconds or until a child jumps on top of you 😊. To make it easier, gently bend your knees, and imagine the sacrum sinking deep into the back part of the pelvis. Now, decrease the distance between your tailbone and the pubis. As you feel the resistance, push the top part of your thighs back and press your heels down. Straighten your knees. But be sure you don’t lock your knees when you straighten them. Modifications: -Place yoga blocks under the hands. Because...well....any chair, anywhere!! 🤣 💕 I love this pretty city, and wandering its streets. I walked so much while I was there! When you’re walking you are moving your body in one way repetitively so stopping for little Chair Yoga breaks here and there and moving my body in different directions, focusing on my breath and stretching out my muscles felt sooo good for my body! 🙏 Not to mention those twists helping with the digestion of all the yummy food I ate too! 😋😂🌱 💕 #lifeofayogi
