Here’s are some exercises you might give a try! Don’t have an an roller? Skip that exercise! You really only need a pair of socks, slippery floors (or carpet if you really want a challenge!), and a mat! Aim for 5x reps per side (even though i didn’t do that 😅)! —————————————— Here’s the sequence: - hold forearm plank (as long as you can!) - dolphin pikes (5-10x) - forearm hip twists (5x per side) - High plank holds (with toes untucked) - High plank knee crunches (5-10x) - High plank twisting knee crunches (5x per side) - ab crunches (keep upper back rounded, arms straight, and tailbone tucked) - ab side crunches - high plank holds on ab roller - downdog to dolphin pushups (5x) - downdog to high plank shifts (5x) - dolphin dips with legs on wall (5x) - feet on wall high plank hold (15 sec) - feet on wall knee to triceps (3-5x each side) - Side plank Hip dips (5x per side) - Side plank oblique hugs (5x per side) . . #PlankPose #coreworkout #fit #bodybuilding #motivation #strengthening #gym #fitness #fitnessmotivation #healthylifestyle #workout #strengthtraining #strength #strengthandconditioning #strengthofawoman #strengthbuilding

You can also use socks, towels, blankets to slide, but these do create a little more challenge for me😅. If you’ve followed me on here for a while, then you know backbends are my favorite. To me they’re so poetic. . To do a healthy and safe backbend it takes so much more than just bending your back. You have to ensure you’re bending in your thoracic spine and not you lumbar, and then train your body to lengthen then bend. . To get into a deeper bend, you’ll then start incorporating the rest of your kinetic chain. Strengthening your hip flexors and pelvic muscles are a huge part of any more advanced backbend, once you start pushing the pelvis up and out, you will immediately start noticing a change in your bends. . In a large amount of heart openers you’ll notice shoulder mobility really comes in handy. Strengthening your shoulders and releasing all of your day to day tension will open those bad boys up. . I just find that sentiment so beautiful, to do a BACKbend you need other parts of your body to find success in these bends. I think that reflects beautifully on yoga practice, but also in your life off the mat. You can focus so much on one aspect of your life, but in order to be happy you need to strengthen all the other aspects too. .
