The body benefits from movement and the mind benefits from stillness 😇😇 - Sakyong Mipham In #ekapadasirsasana I remember my time when i started practing asanas in 2015, putting leg behind the head was easy as there was no particular dristi involved so head is up or down didnt matter, neither did the chest hunched or straight mattered and so the shoulders! I was still happy to do it anyway but when the later part came of lifting it up in #chakorasana I just couldnt find the connection to lift up and imagined how was it even possible! Hehe and three years later the connection has started building up slowly and consistently 🙏🏼😊😊❤️

A few days ago @yogamattershq asked me to be part of a post they were putting together for ‘Blue Monday’ about what makes us happy. As much as I hate to admit it I had to think. Because the thing is mid-eating disorder you forget yourself, and a few years down the line you can’t remember what makes you happy outside of being thin. I think this you have to relearn - or at least, tune back in, and reconnect. And actually I think we have to approach it in a different way than the things that come to the forefront of our minds - because habitually the answers that now come up are skewered. So instead I asked myself what am I doing when I lose myself most. What makes me forget about the eating disorder, being thin, and food? When do I expand out of that? This was my answer: The moments I lose myself; moving on my yoga mat; pushing myself at crossfit; quiet breakfasts in my favourite coffee shop between busy things; picnics on the floor of our little house. Yesterday I saw a post that said I am a human becoming - not a human being. This is kind of what this feels like. What would your answer be?

⠀ from @yogaburnsuccess⠀ Simple Poses for Office Yoga Exercises 📯📯 @hana_bladh Thanks for sharing! 💜 1.Chair Cat-Cow StretchOn an exhale, round your spine and drop your chin to your chest, letting the shoulder and head come forward. cat position. cow on the inhalations and cat on the exhalations for five breaths. 2.Spinal Twist Twist your torso toward the left, holding onto the back of the chair, for a spinal twist.inhale and twist on each exhale for five breaths.Move your legs around to the right side of the chair and repeat the twist to the right side. 3.Chair Raised Hands Pose - Urdhva Hastasana On an inhalation, raise your arms toward the ceiling.Allow your shoulder blades to slide down your back as you reach upwards with your fingertips. Anchor your sit bones in your chair seat and reach up from there. 4pigon Bring your right ankle to rest on your left thigh, keeping the knee in line with your ankle as much as possible. Hold this chair pigeon for three to five breaths.Repeat with the left leg. 5.Chair Extended Side Angle After your final forward bend, stay folded. Bring your left fingertips to the floor on the outside of your left foot. Open your chest as you twist to the right on an inhale, bringing your right arm and gaze up at the ceiling. This is your chair version of extended side angle pose. Hold here for several breaths. Bring the right arm down on an exhale. 6.Chair Forward Bend - Uttanasana On an exhalation, come into a forward bendover the legs. Let the hands rest on the floor if they reach it. Let the head hang heavy. On an inhalation, raise the arms back up over the head. . Have you ever thought about it?...If you detach yourself completely from all the things you have identified yourself with, you will realize yourself as the pure “I”. In that pure “I” there is no difference between you and me.” - quoted from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali ✨ Recently, I’ve started to revisit and reread this book, and this was one of the many verses that stood out to me. If we stripped away the labels, identities, and stories, what do we find? A pure you and I, a unified one, a blank canvas to create. 🌜 So I thought to do this little exercise, and perhaps you’d like to join me too: 1. Write down all the identifications you tend to label yourself with (be completely honest, raw, and vulnerable here - include the negatives AND the positives) 2. Now strip it away, what do you find? For me, I found a blank slate - something with no final destination but rather a road paved for creation. Negative or positive, when the labels are removed, I found a space to simply grow and create. Wheel variation. See here’s the thing with wheel, when you finally get it, it feels awesome to take your heels away from the mat and press through your toes. It feels great because... a)You feel like you are going so much further and bigger and deeper b) You feel awesome and that the pose is easier because you stop working the back body (you no longer press through the heels so it’s easier on the major muscle groups). Bad news: what it does do is make the spine unsupported unless you can get that full leg and back body engagement. Practice heels off the floor with a brick 🧱 between your thighs please. Support your back with muscular engagement please. And then take your fancy instagram pose 😉 please.
