“Exercise and a healthy diet are so important, but people need to make them a permanent factor in their lives - not use them as quick fixes. Women have a lot of external influences on them when it comes to body image, particularly through social media. I’m torn between thinking it’s damaging for women and that it’s also really positive - if if it is used in the right way. It’s about how we, as women, use the tools around us. If you know you can easily be made to feel body conscious, you need to think more about who or what it is that you’re following on the internet. There are so many heavily photo-shopped images, and lots of women who simply have a body type that is just unrealistic for them to achieve - everybody is built differently! So it can easily bring you down. Lots of powerful women, of all shapes and sizes share content now to encourage everyone to be happy with how they’re built.
