“I want to start doing yoga, but I don’t know where to begin…” I hear you. There are so many options out there, and it can be overwhelming. What is vinyasa, or ashtanga, or Anusara, or kundalini, or bhakti… What about acro yoga, or goat yoga🐐, or yoga at a brewery🍻? . The good news is that there are so many opportunities now to try many different versions of a yoga practice and see what feels best for you🙂. And the best news is that every body has a yoga practice within it, so you will find something.👍 . The not-as-good news is that it may take a little while for you to figure it out.😐 . Back to some good news. . ✨ You can start a yoga practice right here, right now, by just breathing consciously. ✨ . Sit comfortably on the floor, or in a chair with your feet flat to the floor. Sit up well, with your shoulders softening away from the ears, and relaxing the muscles on the face and in the jaw. . Soften your gaze. . Take several breaths either in and out through the nose, or in through the nose and out through the mouth. . If you’d like to add movement, inhale to draw the shoulder blades together and broaden the chest, and on the exhale, separate the shoulder blades and round the upper back. Continue at the pace of your breath for several rounds. . Your yoga practice can start out as simple as that. Not too overwhelming, right?😉 Sorry, no goats or beer, but I think it’s still pretty cool. . ☝I have five more stretches you can do to either start your yoga practice or to continue it outside of the studio in the link in my bio.☝ . 🌼 𝕐𝕆𝔾𝔸 🌼 Most days I wake up around 4am now; it’s a beautiful side effect of pregnancy 😅😒 Unfortunately, it wasn’t because of my bladder, but due to Round Ligament Pain! It was so painful I honestly wondered if I would be able to handle labor pains 😅 I sat criss-cross on my bed while I hugged my pillow and rocked back and forth; attempting to stretch my ligaments and take pressure off of my left obliques. Typically this pain hasn’t lasted too long, but here comes 12:30pm and I was still in PAIN! I know I can take Tylenol, but I’m really trying my best to avoid all medications unless absolutely necessary. I’ve been following @happyandfitk for a looong time now (seriously go follow this Queen) and she’s been adding daily yoga to her routine (Yoga by Adriene is the YT channel if y’all want to check her out - I also highly recommend). Unfortunately I didn’t find any prenatal yoga videos, but I really wanted to stretch my abdomen and get some blood flowing. I’m not even kidding when I tell you I haven’t felt any sharp or stabbing pains since finishing the 20 minute video. My abdomen feels centered and stretched appropriately, not at all tight. If this is all that I have to do to keep RLP at bay, count me in!! I’ve always found that yoga is one of the best ways to help stretch, relieve pain, and put my mind in a blissful state. Sadly, it’s something I struggle to keep up with, but I’m hoping to include at least two yoga sessions a week into my routine. Side note: this song is my everything! Not only does it truly speak towards how I feel about my SO, but it is such an emotional and beautiful rendition of the song. It’s also on my labor playlist! Btw, am I the only crazy person to make a #laborplaylist? 😂

Habt ihr damit schon mal Probleme gehabt? ⠀ Da mein Rücken auch öfter Probleme macht, habe ein paar Tipps für euch, die ihr einfach im Arbeits- bzw. Uni-Alltag einbauen könnt! ⠀ ❶ Entwickelt ein Bewusstsein für Bewegung Zu Beginn könnt ihr euren Timer so einstellen, dass er euch regelmäßig an kleine Pausen erinnert (1x pro Stunde). ⏳ In der Zeit baut ihr dann eine kleine Übung ein oder macht einen Rundgang durchs Büro oder die Bibliothek. ⠀ ➋ Achtet auf eure Haltung! Nicht umsonst heißt es: Gerade sitzen. Denn die falsche Haltung belastet Rücken und Nacken! 🙅‍♀️ Falls ihr das häufiger vergesst: Klebt euch einfach einen Zettel an euren Bildschirm! ⠀ ➌ Rückenübungen für zwischendurch Es gibt jede Menge Übungen, die ihr zwischendurch beim Sitzen durchführen könnt, um eure Rückenmuskulatur zu entspannen. Deshalb ist es sinnvoll, Übungen regelmäßig auszuführen. Pilates und Yoga helfen dabei, die Rückenmuskulatur zu stärken. How to get rid of the crunched hunch? You know when your shoulders touch your earlobes and your spine is so stiff you can’t pick up the balled-up paper that missed the bin? That’s when you need to take 5 mins to do yoga for your back at your desk. Sit up straight in your chair. Put your arms behind your back so that your fingers point upwards. Clasp your hands together behind your back. This will force your back to straighten further. Now push your spine into your clasped hands while keeping your arms firm. Breathe in deeply as you do this. Breathe out as you relax your arms and spine. Repeat the exercise until you feel relaxed enough to let go.
