Being connected to my path. I've never thought much about the choices I made. Moving countries and states: if I wanted to go, I went. Falling in love: if I felt it, I dove right in. Pursuing a hobby or career: if it sparked joy, I did it. Deciding to go to college was the hardest choice I've ever made. It felt like selling out. Giving in. Losing myself in a lot of ways. But I knew it was my path. So I listened. It hasn't stopped being hard. I'm entering the next phase of the journey and it's just getting harder. I feel so much pressure to perform. So much pressure to know what to choose... When I am able to slow down, find my breathe, connect to my own body and spirit, I do know my path has got me. I know in the unseen, it's lying there already stretched out. I know I will walk it. I can't not. Anyone else find yoga either physically impossible or mind numbingly boring?!?! Every program I have done in the past seems to have a stretch day or a yoga day and it has always left me feeling frustrated, bored or inadequate because I can’t contort my body into said positions. And don’t get me started on the breathing. For some reason I’m always breathing out when I should be breathing in 🤦🏼‍♀️ I found this novice program a few years ago and it completely changed my opinion of yoga. It breaks down every single position move and modifies it for even the most inflexible individuals 🙋🏼‍♀️ Even though I’m feeling much better, my energy level is no where near ready to tackle a high impact program or lifting. Sometimes just breathing and stretching can calm the mind, even if you aren’t doing it right. 😋 Happy Tuesday Friends! 💗

Когда я увидела, как Вика @victoritara натирает пол, я решила, что мне тоже так надо: Вика мощь и фигни делать не станет. В общем, надела я носки... И вообще не смогла ничего. Взяла кирпичи и с жутким пыхтением что-то там изобразила. Но отчаиваться не стала: начала регулярно избавлять пол от пыли. И вот спустя несколько месяцев у меня стало получаться. Отсюда мораль: сам себя не потиранишь - никто не потиранит. #laghuvajrasana #thunderbolt pose I didn't sleep very well last night, so it was hard to find the motivation to get on to the mat today. It rarely happens, but it does! But, I made it! . So, this deliberate and confident drop back from camel is a very new development for me. (Vid speed x2) . I finally feel like I've developed enough strength to do it, and I did. It wasn't something that I wanted to rush, and I only practiced it when it came up on challenges. But I think everything else (working on other poses) added up too. I'm still working on deepening the backbend, but not rushing that either! ❤️ . #practicenotperfection . Everything can be adapted and changed. It is not about not doing somethings because you can't , it's about finding the variation that you can do. Pregnancy and forward folds tend to become less friendly as the first progresses. But that does not mean you can't fold forward anymore. It is more about how you can fold forward without any harm or danger, still creating as much benefits for your body and mind. This is the actual variation of a forward fold I practice daily. 🔹️ Legs are as much apart as the space needed for the growing belly. 🔹️No pulling on the legs to get closer to them. (You might be coning your abs for pulling). 🔹️Rather elongating the spine and creating space in it. 🔹️Mantaining the belly weight with core muscles. 🔹️Breathing is calm, long, almost as you might fall asleep. No strains, no forcing. 🔹️The weight of the body is not on the hands, but on the feet. Day 7 of #balanceURasana - hanstand Yoga not about arm balances but about finding a balance in life. We turn to more challenging yoga to find focus and balance. I got up at 5:30 to teach 3 reformer classes and took 1 for myself. Today my handstand just wasn’t happening... absolutely no balance... so I opted for a hollowback shape.
