This ‘baby’ #armbalance is all about folding at the flexors, so the legs can climb VERY close to the shoulders. Once they get there, squeeze them into the arms, so they don’t slip down. Look right below you, drop the elbows as close to the butt as they can go, forearms parallel to each other, fingers actively spread, then use the famous leg ​activation​ to press up and ‘mount’ on top of the upper arms. It’s pretty straightforward if the legs go high enough and elbows tuck under. Pull navel in when you’re about to go up and breathe a few times, looking out in front. If you’d rather #practice the regular version on the hands, by all means, go for it (or you can do both and notice the differences). Tip once you’re up: continue to squeeze the legs into the back of the arms so you ‘close’ the ‘V’ you’re making. That way, energy ​accumulates​ in the body, there’s a stronger bandha, back & side of the body connection, and legs can ‘rest’ a bit on the triceps. Keep the spine as flat as possible and, for those wanting something more, play with the angle feet/hips so raise the legs up as you drop the butt down and vice versa. Do that also balancing on the hands and visualize yourself lifting into Handstand... I’m getting ahead of myself as that’ll happen on Day 27 but this is a moment to start introducing the idea into our head! Do you prefer Baby Tittibha or the regular one? Which one you find easier? For me it’s the Baby one but a lot of people think differently, curious to hear your thoughts too... have a great one!! For modifications, check out @yogawithaislinn and @rachely.wang

I have to admit - it has been tough keeping up w

✨ I cherish Myself ✨ I have to admit - it has been tough keeping up with this meditation challenge and finding quiet time for myself in general in these past 2 weeks (exactly when I launched the challenge). But hey, this is life and sometimes life is very very busy. And here comes the trouble - we have been brainwashed lately to accept and even glorify bing busy and not having time. Well, here is the actual reality: it is not a big thing and it is not worthy of applause. Yup, I said it. Being busy would almost always rip us off many of the wonderful things we would love to do/spend time on. Like taking care of ourselves. Physically taking the time to soak up a bath, go for a massage, go to a yoga class or simply sit on the couch and breathe. Without the rush. Without the urgency that seems to always surround. You deserve this time for yourself, you need it. Your physical and especially your mental health deserves this. They are much more important than that birthday party on Saturday, or that family dinner or that meeting. When you really feel it, you have to say NO and say YES to your needs. Himalayan School of Traditional Yoga conducted 4 morning classes during the Anchored in Love Retreat with Mohanji in South Africa recently . Classes began with cleansing and energizing Pranayamas, Chanting and Light Yogic exercises followed by Dynamic yogic excersises and then main Asanas, ending off with a closing prayer and Yogic Laughter. Majority of attendees had never practiced yoga before but during the class were able to connect with their bodies and soon the excitement of practicing Yoga starting building up. This has been wonderful as HSTY has brought Yoga to many beginners that had previously perceived Yoga as 'I can't do ' to ' I want to do more.' Enthusiasm and empowerment of one's self has been the result of the Yoga over the 4 days of cleansing and reflection. The schedule was Intitially planned for 3 days but many enjoyed the classes and thus a 4th class was then conducted on the last day 🙂 Big Thank you goes out to the HSTY team especially Devi Mohan and Usha for their endless love and support in making this a success 🙏🏼
