Are you working on your splits? Here is how I practiced my splits: 1️⃣ Preps Stretch your harmstrings and hip with poses such as Happy Baby, Pigeon, Half Split, Low Lunge, etc. 2️⃣ Use props Support your splits with folded blankets, blocks, pillows or even chairs. 3️⃣ I also use the wall Stand straight with 1 leg on the wall. Start further from the wall. You can either move your standing leg closer to the wall or move your splitting leg up higher as you progress. Hold for 30 seconds each leg then prolong your holding time to 30-60 seconds. Feel free to hold onto a chair to keep you balanced. 4️⃣ Practice, practice, practice Each human body is different, some may take shorter time than others to get flexible, some may take longer. But practice makes perfect. Your body loses flexibility over time. Раз уж мне сегодня стукнуло 38, самое время рассказать, как я докатилась до такой жизни, ибо вопрос продолжает оставаться любимым 😅 . В моей жизни все происходит позже, чем у нормальных людей... я бы сказала - гораздо позже 😂 Я поздно пошла в школу, поздно вышла замуж и поздно родила дочь. Йога пришла в мою жизнь тоже позже, чем хотелось бы. Лет на 10 😂 Мое знакомство с ней произошло в обычном фитнес-центре у преподавателя, для которой йога была больше факультативом, чем основным направлением. Мне понравилось, не сказать, что влюбилась, но месяц я отходила и забеременела. Я заморозила абонемент и с чистой совестью и справкой от врача отправилась лежать на диван. На втором триместре я долежалась до сильных болей в пояснице, нашла видео «Йога для беременных» в сети и занималась по нему почти до родов, чередуя с бассейном. Когда родилась Злата, стало не до себя и это «не до себя» продолжалось полгода, пока опять все мои болячки в спине не вылезли наружу. Разморозила абонемент, бабушка или няня с ребёнком, я на йогу. После месяца регулярных занятий боли прошли. Я помню этот момент - я вытаскивала Злату из ванночки и уже как-то сгруппировалась, готовясь к прострелу в пояснице, а его не последовало 😳 Тогда я поняла, что йога теперь навсегда и регулярно 😅 Через год абонемент закончился и вместе с ним ответы на мои вопросы от того тренера. И я отправилась на поиски 😄 Посещала различные классы и самостоятельно организовывала свою практику в дочкин сон. Каждый раз у нового тичера меня что-то раздражало. В нем самом, в манере вести занятие или глобально 😆 и вскоре я поняла, что заниматься под руководством самой себя мне нравится больше 😄🤷🏻‍♀️ . Но йога всего лишь любимая треть моей жизни. А может даже четверть)) Те, кто на втором фото, вот кто на самом деле заставляет меня двигаться вперёд и самосовершенствоваться 😍 . #деньСтарения #хэппибёздейменя

Here’s a unique standing flow that offers us some excellent lower body movement in the *frontal plane* (the plane of movement seen from the front 😀) . In addition to the frontal plane loading & coordinating involved here, we also experience a great balance challenge. (In fact, feel free to practice this flow near a wall or a chair if you could use a little extra support in that department!) . Starting in eagle pose (garudasana), unwind your legs and step your front foot behind you and across your midline, lowering down into a curtsy squat. . (This is actually a similar shape to eagle pose, but with less of a balance challenge and more lower body work involved. Did you notice? 😀) . Then re-wind your legs back up into eagle pose. Cycle back and forth between these movements a few more times (I just did this twice for time’s sake in this video, but feel free to repeat several times!) Then, from your curtsy lunge, step out wide into a lateral lunge. . From your lateral lunge, find your way into half moon (ardha chandrasana). In my half moon here, I chose to let balance continue to be a challenge for me by keeping my bottom hand floating off the floor. But feel very free to place your hand on a chair, block, or the floor for the added stability that provides! . Now *here* is the best part (in my humble opinion 😀): From half moon, transition back into eagle pose! And I mean eagle pose facing the original direction you were facing on your mat, which means you will have to rotate your standing foot 90 degrees (whoooaaa) in order to end up where you started in this sequence! . And if you live in Southern California, like I do, I bet you’re on the road a lot..⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ •⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Runners lunge is one of my favorite postures to stretch out tight hip flexors and hips in general after sitting behind the wheel a lot. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ •⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🎼 My little girl, drive anywhere... 🎼⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Depeche Mode - behind the Wheel🛵⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One of my favorite songs from the good old 80's...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Gosh! I'm getting old 😅😩⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ •⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Anyways...There are so many different variations depending how flexible or how tight you are in those areas. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ •⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'd like to start on my palms and slowly move down towards the ground onto my elbows. A good idea to place one or two blocks under the forearms so instead or jamming yourself down to far you can still focus on your breath and elongate your spine by reaching your sternum forward. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ •⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are different variations with the back leg as well. You can rest your back knee down to your mat for a more restorative variation or you can keep the back leg lifted. If you decide to go with the second option, see if you can send energy to your back hill from the crow of the head, creating a mountain pose alignment through the whole body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ •⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You can also roll to the outer arch of your front foot creating a different feeling and stretch in your hips.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ •⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Make sure you focus 👁 on your breathing the whole time. INHALE to lengthen, EXHALE to release.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Stay in this pose for at least 15 to 20 breath on each side.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let your body open up and let go of the emotional stress as well. You'll feel so much better. 🤩

Hello! I haven't been able to teach since yesterday (won't be teaching today as well) coz I somehow caught the flu last Saturday. Man, it's been rough. But as all things, this too shall pass - and I am feeling better today (though still groggy and a little weak). I will be back to my classes (though don't expect much) tomorrow (wednesday) 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Hopefully no more fever tonight. Guys, take care of yourselves.
