ᵂᴱᴿᴮᵁᴺᴳ My shoulder problems did not get better for so long and it got quite frustrating to be honest. Yesterday I started with the shoulder program from @themobilitymanifesto and after that my shoulders felt so nicely warmed up and the pain was gone, so I dared to try a few handstands again. . I can’t describe in words, how good this felt. I missed it so much. I don’t know if that makes sense to you. But I assume it’s mostly a mental thing and it was so needed. Anyways, I am continuing with the mobility program and am so grateful for it. It feels like it’s going in the right direction. 🙏 . I threw in a few quick handstands today too as I wanted to try the lightning bolt shape ⚡️ that I saw Cathy @cathymadeoyoga do for #offthewallhandstand. Swipe to see. It’s such a great drill pulling the thigh close to the body that really makes the core work. 🔥 I will definitely not get too excited and give my shoulder some more rest during the next days. 😬 . If you are curious about the mobility program I can totally recommend the yoga edition with @robinmartinyoga for combining mobility training for the spine, shoulders and hips. It’s awesome to increase your range of motion and prevent injuries. 1️⃣ Libera la mente 2️⃣ Sconfiggi lo stress 3️⃣ Rilassati e prenditi un momento per te Quando penso al weekend e al senso di calma e tranquillità che mi infonde, non posso non compararlo a quello che è lo yoga e, in particolare, mi viene in mente questa Asana, Paschimottanasana. Perché? Perché la vita la vedo proprio come una sequenza di yoga, la prima parte costituita di asana che risvegliano la nostra energia vitale, che potremmo paragonare alla vita dal lunedì al venerdì (se di energia vitale non ne avessimo, come faremmo ad affrontarla?!?), la seconda parte fatta di asana come quella di cui parliamo oggi, Paschimottanasana, che paragono invece al fine settimana, in quanto le posizioni di flessione del busto in avanti vengono messe alla fine della sequenza proprio perché preparano al rilassamento finale e alla meditazione. I am not able to do a full fledged handstand so I do it with the support of wall and try its variations also. I've injured my legs quite often because I worked on splits too hard. In July, I got to deep into the split and it took weeks even months until my left leg was completely healed again. . . Two weeks ago, it happened again. My legs where to loose, I didn't activated them enough and when I lifted my arms from the floor there was a loud noise in my left leg muscle. Something tore and I could hear it. That evening i knew it was really bad. The next day I couldn't walk properly. . . All the photos and videos by the dear @deondone were taken after the injury. If you pay attention you see that I never stretch the back side of my left leg. I can't do a sun solution because I can't even touch the floor with my hands in a forward fold without pain. Kicking up into a handstand hurts. Sometimes even taking the stairs hurts. . . I believe that every injury is like a mirror to our soul. Your body will express if there is too much held back energy. . . At first I was so angry at myself that "I was so stupid to overdo my splits." But after some time I got a deeper insight. I can't change what happened. And it happened for a reason. So why do I punish myself for the past when my body needs nothing but love and patience at the moment? . . Now, I still practice yoga and do my workouts. But with a lower intensity. I move carefully. Always. I allow myself to get aware of every part of my body. I allow myself to be satisfied without giving 100%. Because I try to listen to my body and maybe that's more worth than giving 100%. . . As I'm traveling and I'm really busy at the time, I think I won't be able to join all days of the #festivecozyseason challenge but here we are with a forward fold for day 1 (hosts: @ker.yoga @yogileonie @stelasulzdorf @amy.yogini @yogi_kaity sponsors: @alo.moves @aloyoga)
