Compare to 170703. • The GHD Hip and Back Extension • Set the support pad so the hips are free and the legs are straight. • Start with hips extended and arms crossed. • Tuck chin to flex the spine, starting at the neck. • Upper back then rounds, followed by the lower back. • Hips flex, then momentarily extend the spine. • To return, extend hips while spine flexes. • Hips stay extended as lower back, then upper back extends. • Finish with a neutral spine and extended hips. • For a video, check the link in my bio!

Tips for Trainers As some of you may know, I have been a trainer for 15 years. I would say I have learned the most in the last 8 years, and even more in the last 4 years. I’m far from where I want to be, but proud of where I am going. I wanted to share some of my tips for being a good trainer. 1️⃣Asses the client. Find out their strengths, weaknesses, daily activity level, career, stress level, WHAT THEY ENJOY activity wise, WHAT THEY NEED fitness wise, time they have, funds, children, goals, ect.... your plan will be built off this info. 2️⃣Get to know who you are working with. Have a questioner, but also really pay attention and get to know them. Be genuinely interested. See them for who they are. The majority of my clients, work hard, have kids, are women, are truly amazing women who are bosses. They don’t all see themselves that way, but I can tell you, they are amazing. I SEE THEM. IM AMAZED at all they do and that they fit in training. Often times they get down they can’t make it, or have a meeting, kids sick. Let them know that’s ok and encourage them to go for a walk or do what they can. Don’t make them feel bad for juggling 🤹‍♀️ everything. You can tell if they are just skipping or are genuinely busy. I have held phones for clients who showed up during a conference. We put phone on mute and I let them know if their name is called. I have typed out emails while they are working. Be there for them. I’m just freaking proud they showed up while all that was going on. Hell yeah 👊. 3️⃣ My favorite - give them some of what they want and some of what they need. The more we learn as trainers. We have this perfect idea in our head of what our clients should be doing. The problem is, if they don’t enjoy some of it, they won’t stay. Plus, don’t you like doing some of what you enjoy? Of course! Isn’t any movement l, better than nothing? Yes! This goes with number 1️⃣. Get to know them. Find out what they love, but also assess and see where they need work. There is room for both. Hello my name is Tasha and I like to torture myself by working out while I'm on nights and my sleep schedule is all wack 💀 I've plateaued a bit on my lifts and I feel like my squats are kinda trash compared to the rest of my lifts, so I hired a PT (thaaaanks @itsjoseyo). Here's some of my W2D4. 1. Tempo squats (3-0-1) 4x5 for RPE 7: 155 (not shown), 165 (not quite rpe 7 yet), 170 for 2 sets 2. Touch and go bench 4x6 for RPE 7: 105, 107.5 (was feeling pretty good), 110 for 2 sets (first set was RPE7, second set like RPE8 😭) 3. Hip thrusts with a 2 ct pause: 205 for 3x8 Allll that followed by a 3 sets of a triset of front/lateral/rear felt raises and some hollow holds.
