FEAR, how do you define it? There is so much conversation around doing more of the things that scare you, and how thats that the only way to grow, which is all true and incredible advise. But what we donโ€™t talk about, real deep rooted fear. ๐Ÿ’ซ For me, I have a serious fear of flying. This has been something I have had weirdly all of my life and am not sure why I have this fear but I do! ๐Ÿ’ซ Having dealt with this for years, it is something I am working on managing, because after all, It is the most efficient (and ONLY) way to get to Patagonia, which I am so excited to be going in exactly a week! ๐Ÿ’ซ When working on my goals for this week they were all tied towards managing this fear and NOT letting it control my life! ๐Ÿ’ซ 1- Do more of the smaller things that scare you- the more you prove to yourself that you can do the smaller the bigger seems less scary ๐Ÿ’ซ 2- Stay active- Working out is something that helps me to release anxiety, and the more that released the less that bottles up (duh!)๐Ÿ’ซ 3- Stay positive- When I find my thoughts becoming negative IMMEDIATELY turn the switch. ๐Ÿ’ซ 4- Mediate more- Up the meditation, not only does it help to get rid of those negative thoughts, but it also helps with anxiety. ๐Ÿ’ซ 5- Sleep- Nothing exacerbates a bad situation like being overtired. Make it a point to get in at least 8 hours, or whatever your body needs to be able to function at 1000%. What is something you are afraid of, and how do you deal with it?! ๐Ÿ’ซ

Do I feel seen and cared for by the people in my life? Am I connected to my community? Am I able to set boundaries? . โˆ† Emotional needs: Do I practice regular self-care? Am I able to feel my feelings? Do I numb often? Are there feelings Iโ€™m afraid to open? Do I give my emotional life space? Am I mindful of how Iโ€™m feeling? Do I have an emotional toolkit? . โˆ† Personal growth needs: Do I explore ways Iโ€™d like to grow? Are there activities that inspire me? Do I engage in things that give me purpose? Am I connected to my own aspirations and goals? Do I allow myself to shift and change as I learn and unlearn? . โˆ† Intellectual needs: Do I take in new ways of understanding myself and the world? Am I expanding on what I already know? Am I open to new information and points of view? Do I seek out knowledge and wisdom? Do I feel intellectually fulfilled? . โˆ† Spiritual needs: Am I connected to something greater than myself? Do I feel a sense of honoring my own existence? Are there ways I engage with my spiritual rituals and practices? Am I making space for what spirituality fills in my life? โ€ข Each of our circles might look unique, but having awareness around the different parts of ourselves can support us in supporting ourselves. โœŒ๐Ÿป

Standing among Cardio machines like NUUUUUUU dont make me. @gymshark #GYMSHARK66 Girlfriends, lemme tell you something. I had fallen prey to this thought process that if I didn't do harcore cardio everyday and functional body weight exercises and HIIT that I would get too big. How wrong was I. It's just simply not possible to get that big unless you're on steroid cycles and other illegal substances. My approach to cardio has changed tremendously. The reason why I do it has changed tremendously. Now I do cardio for my heart health. I do it to get my heart pumping and sometimes to see an added benefit of fat loss if that is my goal for that month. My cardio is well thought out and well regulated. I do not simply do it everyday. Before I would never compromise cardio for weights. Now I'd never compromise weights for cardio. Things change. Thought process do to. Keep evolving. Lentil stew with creamy mushrooms and mashed potatoes by @elavegan ๐Ÿ’›โ € Recipe: Ingredientsโ € Lentil stewโ € 1 cup dry lentils, green or brown (190 g)โ € 1 large onion (chopped)โ € 2 cloves of garlic (minced)โ € 1 tbsp oil (for frying)โ € 3 tbsp white wine (40 ml) (optional)โ € 3 cups vegetable broth (720 ml)โ € 2 cups mushrooms sliced (135 g) 2 tbsp soy sauce (wheat free if GF)โ € 1 tbsp balsamic vinegarโ € 1-2 tsp each of dried parsley, thyme and oregano (use more, if fresh)โ € A splash of coconut milk canned (for extra creaminess)โ € 1/2 tbsp cornstarch (to thicken)โ € black pepper and chili flakes to tasteโ € Chopped pickles to taste (optional)โ € . Mashed potatoesโ € 4 medium-sized potatoes (600 g)โ € 1/4 cup coconut milk canned (60 ml) 1/2 tsp nutmeg (or more/less to taste)โ € black pepper, sea salt to tasteโ € โ € Instructionsโ € Rinse lentils under running water. I prefer to soak my lentils for about 15 minutes in lukewarm water but this step is optional (discard the water afterwards). Meanwhile, chop your onion, garlic, mushrooms (*see recipe notes). Heat oil in a skillet/frying pan, stir in the diced onion, the minced garlic and fry for 3 minutes over medium heat.โ € โ € Add mushrooms, dried parsley, thyme, oregano, white wine (optional), balsamic vinegar, soy sauce (or tamari/coconut aminos to taste) and fry for a further 3-5 minutes.โ € โ € Now add the lentils and 3 cups of vegetable broth and cook on low-medium heat (add more broth if needed) until the lentils are tender (about 20 minutes). In the meantime, peel and chop potatoes, transfer them to a pot with salted water and bring to a boil. Cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes or until tender, drain. Transfer back to the pot, add coconut milk, nutmeg, black pepper and sea salt to taste and mash with a potato masher (don't use a food processor or blender). Once the lentils are tender, mix a generous splash of coconut milk and cornstarch in a small bowl and pour this mixture into the lentil stew. Cook for a further 1 minute or until the desired thickness is reached. Season again with soy sauce (if needed), black pepper, and chili flakes. Serve warm, garnish with chopped pickles and fresh herbs! #veganfoodspace #vegandinner
