Weightlifting Belts: I used to be in the group that hated belts because they "weaken the abs" and just "hide weak back and core muscles". Now I am a believer in the belt for certain powerlifting movements. Personally I only use a belt for: heavy deadlift and heavy squat(front and back). You should NOT be using it for bicep curls or lifts that are not powerlifts. × × × The point of the belt is to create more abdominal pressure for your abs and lower back. The added pressure helps keep your spine in a safe and stable position while under heavy stress. In addition the abs have something else to push against when you do the lift creating more tension in your core. Take a deep breathe in your gut, brace your core and then lift the weight and you will be in the most stable position you can be in. Look at all professional powerlifters who aren't doing raw. They use belts because their spines need the extra support to help keep it stable and in a safe position. DO NOT ABUSE HOW OFTEN YOU USE THE BELT. Did you just wake up? ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Do this quick abs circuit to get your Saturday started. I always like doing abs first thing in the morning on an empty stomach so then immediately after it kinda looks like I actually have abs lol. 😏⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ A circuit means you perform the reps or time for the first exercise, rest for the set amount of time or just go right into the next exercise for the prescribed reps or time. (Just depends on the circuit) ⁣⁣ For this circuit, try not to rest at all btw each exercise and completed reps! If it’s too hard, rest for 15 seconds in btw exercises!⁣⁣ If you don’t have any weights at home, get creative...use a gallon of milk, a heavy book, a Christmas present lol ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ WORKOUT DEETS ━⁣⁣ ● leg lifts x 15⁣⁣ ●weighted toe taps x 15⁣⁣ ●medicine ball bicycle twists x 20 total ⁣⁣ ●Russian twists x 20 total ⁣⁣ ●plank 30 seconds ⁣⁣ ●rest for 2 minutes ⁣⁣ ➞ perform 3-4 rounds ⁣⁣ ➞rest for 2 minutes in btw rounds ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My abs were on fireeeee 🔥 after this one! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ━⁣⁣ If you’re just starting out on your fitness journey & have no idea what to do in the gym or if you’re an intermediate level lifter/bored with your workout routine...DM or email me!! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I would love to set you up on my 8 week program ALL ON AN APP with workout demonstrations & form tips for every single workout.
