W7D2: Today was challenging both physically and mentally. Physically was a grind and mentally because I apparently cant count. I thought I had went heavier on my top set so I went heavier on my comeback sets, hence the fucking grind! Also I miscounted on my working sets on tempo benches - it's hard to count to 5 and then 3 and then remember reps during a hard fucking workout, okay??? Regardless, my top deadlift set, I feel, was my smoothest single to date. Working sets weren't horrible, just ran out of gas quickly. My low back was also roaring but because it was just pumped up as shit - a lot different than my typical flare ups. Benching was awesome - shoulder felt great and was able to stay at 265 for 2 sets and then came back to 245. Got a little better towards the end of the session but it took a while to get my engine moving. It did help me to really focus on using the muscles so my form didn’t go to shit. 09/17/2019 - Week 2 of 531 and we begin deadlift and squat combo of BBB. TM 325 135-5 165-5 185-5 195 - 5 215 - 3 230 - 3 260- 3 295 - 3+ and wanted no more than 7. Done. Could have hit 10. My critique, slow down, late hip movement. Will work on that. 2nd move - squat 5x10 @ 70 percent of TM which is 205. 145 done. I believe the little cardio with cycling helping with engine during these movements and the belly not so out there. W7D1: quickly realizing that today is by far the toughest day of the block. Just got my ass handed to me today. I tried using the squat shoes all throughout my workout today - the goal is to take some pressure off the achillies. I didn't feel as strong, but my achillies felt great after. Prolly going to switch it up a bit until I find comfort in the shoes overall. My top paused squat was awesome and then coming back was brutal. 335 (videod) pauses sucked so I brought it back to 315 - didn't video but they were much better. That was just a tough sequence in general. Benching felt great- a little discomfort on my 1st reps but was able to find the right groove coming down and felt great. Shoulder held up really well today. High rep everything sucks, but bent over rows are on a different level. Tempo run was fine, but I feel like either the timer was off or the distance... or maybe it is accurate, just didn’t have any hills or stoplights. If that’s the case then sub-4 mins/km for a 5K isn’t too far off. So this goes against most fitness recommendations, but I’ve been delaying my PWO nutrition more, after a FASTED training session. I just never am hungry, and if I force down a protein shake I get hungry at work when I have no food access. Today I didn’t get hungry even when lunch came around, but I figured I probably should get some protein so I did (carbs were just a tomato, tomato juice, and a cucumber). I feel fat enough that my muscles won’t go catabolic and maybe I’ll burn a little more fat from this, who knows.
