COFFEE FOR A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE? YES INDEED! ☺ A recently published study (Sep 2018) exploring the influence of an anti‐inflammatory diet on survival time, showed that adherence to a diet with high anti‐inflammatory potential was associated with a lower risks of all‐cause, and cause‐specific mortality (Cardiovascular disease and Cancer). To assess the anti‐inflammatory potential of a diet, researchers used the anti‐inflammatory diet index (AIDI). Briefly, the AIDI was based on 16 foods or food groups, including 11 foods with anti‐inflammatory potential and five foods with pro‐inflammatory potential. The foods with ANTI‐inflammatory potential (good for you) were as follows: total fruits and vegetables; tea; coffee; wholegrain bread; breakfast cereal; low‐fat cheese; olive and canola oil; nuts; chocolate; red wine; and beer. The foods with PRO‐inflammatory potential (should be avoided) were as follows: unprocessed red meat; processed red meat; offal; chips; and soft drinks. Consumption of each food was scored, and the AIDI score ranges from 0 to 16, where 0 indicates a diet with the lowest anti‐inflammatory potential and 16 indicates a diet with the highest anti‐inflammatory potential. Results from this study showed that the participants with the highest AIDI score (8–13), compared to those with the lowest score (≤5), had a 18% lower risk of all‐cause mortality, a 20% lower risk for dying from Cardiovascular disease, and a 13% lower risk for dying from cancer. It’s okay. 🌟 It’s okay not to feel okay. It’s okay to not feel on top of the world every single day. It’s okay to admit you’re not feeling positive. It’s okay to give into those feelings, tuck yourself into bed with a cup of tea or coffee and Christmas cookies. It’s okay to shut off the noise and be on your own. Don’t feel like you need to be glowing and sparkling and overly positive 24/7! We all have days where it’s easier to stay positive, and we all know these days where we can’t seem to get things right. And it’s O K A Y! ✌🏼 It’s normal, it’s human. Today is one of those days for me. I’m not feeling down or sad or anything, but I can admit that I’m not feeling my very best, rather tired but still positive and grateful. I know that my mind has the power to change my point of view, and I am filing my mind with positive thoughts while I will cuddle myself up into my bed with cookies and hot chocolate the second i get home from classes 😅 And i feel okay. Somedays you dont have the mojo or motivation but you do it anyway because you know it helps. I could have stayed under my fluffy blankets when 3:45am rolled around. I could have easily given into my lazier side. But I know where that gets me and I dont want that. So even though I was stiff and heavy I still got to the top of my mat. Breathed. Did my best to follow the count. And didnt judge it *well tried not to* Now moving ok with my day. Practice makes practice.

After some serious vegan foodporn content you now get some ordinary gym selfie. Feeling like I had two different parts inside myself. On the one hand I love to immerge into some serious deep yoga flow completely forgetting everything around me. Meditating the shit out of me. Being some little spiritual soul sending out some crazy energetic vibes ✨ On the other hand I’m like the ordinary hustling gym lady that just focuses on lifting that heavy shit having the craziest shit face 💩 and giving a fuck about spiritual thoughts. Just the weights, loud music and my body. So crazy! I feel like both sides have to be in balance to keep me satisfied. Trivial gym selfies + serious deep meditation work = happy Jenny! . . 🇩🇪 Habt ihr auch manchmal das Gefühl, dass in euch 2 verschiedene Charakteranteile wohnen, die sich augenscheinlich abstoßen? Ich kann dir tiefgründige Meditationen schreiben, mich in einem Yoga Flow verlieren und über den spirituellsten Gedanken nachhängen. Ich kann aber auch genauso gut richtig oberflächlich im gym stehen, meine Gewichte stemmen und mich ganz banal über meine Muskeln freuen und zum Abschluss richtig ordinär und narzisstisch noch ein gym selfie im Spiegel machen. Und hey ich liebe beide Seiten! Scheinen sie auch noch so gegensätzlich zu sein... ich habe das Gefühl, nur zusammen ergeben sie eine Jenny 😅🌟✨ . . Who can relate? Wem geht’s auch so?

We baked these bad boys last night with our children, festive gingerbread cookies! They taste amazing and the best part is they’re not horrendously unhealthy as treats go. They’re filled with lots of vitamins and minerals thanks to the blackstrap molasses and they’re also loaded with antioxidants thanks to all of the yummy spices! These are free from refined sugar and dairy, here’s the recipe, it makes between 30-40 cookies: 310 grams organic bread flour 3 teaspoons ground ginger 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 3/4 teaspoon Himalayan rock salt finely ground 1/2 teaspoon finely ground black pepper 1/2 cup blackstrap molasses 1/2 cup coconut oil 1/2 cup maple syrup Warm the last three ingredients up in a pan together and then stir them into the dry ingredients. Place dough in cling film in the fridge for a few hours, then roll it out nice and thin and cut out your cookies. Bake on a baking tray lined with parchment paper for 6-8 minutes at 200. Isn’t it wonderful that the more balancing we do in our practice the more we can get out of our head and into our body? I used to hate balancing sequences. Now I love them, even when i fall 🤣 Isn’t it also wonderful that the body reacts to things even before the mind? That it senses different energies, vibrations, things we can’t even physically see. And that we can store so many different emotions in different parts of our body, especially in our chest, shoulders and hips. I guess that’s the beauty of mind-body connection. The more conscious and present we are, the more can act intuitively. Just some benefits of da yoga 🧘🏽‍♀️ Happy Monday y’all 🌼😉🌸
