Do you need supplements? 💊 . Yes, a healthy diet should supply all the nutrients we need for optimal health.. but the reality is, our soil is depleted and has lost much of its mineral content, we now live in a time where a LOT of our food is grown with chemicals, we have less exposure to sun or dirt, we are under synthetic lights all day and our environments are stressful 😖. . Removing animal products from your diet is very rewarding to your health🐷, but what ends up happening with people who go vegan is that they rely on highly processed vegan junk foods🍔🍟🍕🌮🌭, which will ultimately lead to mineral deficiencies🙅🏾‍♀️. This is not because there’s a limitation of the vegan diet, but more so the condition of the lifestyles we live (depleted soil, being indoors all day, poor nutrition, etc). . 🚨Supplements DO NOT take the place of nutrition. We have certain enzymes that interact with actual food, and use these minerals for optimal nutrition. We cannot get the exact same reaction from supplements alone. If you’re not careful, you’ll find yourself with a cabinet full of pill bottles wondering where you went wrong🤷🏾‍♀️. . Vegans and non vegans alike have many of the same deficiencies. Mainly Low iron and vitamin D. A diet high in fruits, vegetables, nuts seeds and grains can help you stay balanced. But also remember that no matter how many fruits and vegetables you eat, if your body isn’t absorbing them, then you might be in trouble, and you’ll need to get that colon in check 💩😉 . . This week has been busy but productive. Regardless I feel my desires coming to me faster than ever. It’s overwhelming but I’m okay. I’m finding that appreciating how far I’ve come is important. We don’t give ourselves enough credit for that kind thing. As a creative, I’ve learned to lighten up on my self-judgement and appreciate what’s already there. I’m pretty sure I’m one of the few who can say, especially at my age. My knowledge on the universe and law of attraction in general has allowed me to trust. Trust and have faith. In that order. To know that I am doing enough and my manifestations will come in their own timing. What I’m asking for is big but possible. I’m not going to lie, there are days where I feel like I’m getting no where. Like I hit a wall. I forget the big picture get caught up in the fact that I’m busy. I’ve learned that is okay. It’s okay to feel like that. The point is that I’m going towards my desires which means letting go of aspects that aren’t serving me anymore. Basically change can be scary. And that’s okay. But know that those changes are to help you level up and trust. [yes I said it. Take your hand off the wheel and breathe]. Okay that’s my speech for the day. I also felt like sharing because I haven’t done that for a while (or at least from what I remember lol). I hope you’re having a great day where you are, love yourselves, and live your best life. hellooo friends! i’ve been on here for a couple months and think it’s about time for a brief introduction to the bean behind the snax ⭐️⁣ ⁣ i am soooo fortunate to attend college in Santa Barbara (about to begin my last year, c r y) and am majoring in physical geography with a minor in spatial sciences. i take lots of classes involving earth science/environmental science, and i absolutely love it.⁣ ⁣ i’ve been passionately vegan for a little over four years and am in love with the lifestyle. i began because i watched “Earthlings”, a documentary about animal exploitation, and i now do it for the environment and my health as well! i’d never imagined i’d stop eating meat, nor did i realize how varied and interesting my diet would become upon going vegan 😇⁣ ⁣ working out + eating healthy has been a big part of my life for years. although my relationship with health and body image has not been perfect, i’ve come to feel that food ought to be celebrated rather than feared, and i am stoked that so many of you agree 🌞⁣ ⁣ thanks for letting me share what i love and for supporting this creative outlet of mine :) love ya’ll!!✨

Satisfacción.... With knowing I have been on a healing journey for almost 3 years . 🌱It’s been a week since my colonoscopy and I have been diagnosed with mild #diverticulitis . 🤯I asked my GI Dr., “How do I heal this?” He says I must eat more fruits and veggies... I laughed and said, “Doc, I’m Vegan!”. He smiled. Literally, no response. So I sat there still trying to figure this out on my own. I wasn’t mad at him because if you didn’t know, most Dr. do not learn more than 20 hours of basic nutrition during Med School (yes, its mind blowing). But it’s not their fault, it’s the system and big Pharma! 👎🏽 . Anyway, I’ve been dealing with gut issues my whole life; ulcers, gastritis, IBS, reflux/heartburn. I was confused; switching to a plant based diet was the first step to taking real control of my health! How could I develop this disease when the cure is a plant based diet? As I sat there thinking, I started analyzing my eating habits and vices. If I really want to heal myself I am going to have to change my habits until this is cured. I am prepared💪🏽. I have committed to keeping a food dairy to understand what’s affecting my body. Yes, I might have to give up some food items up or limit them until this is all figured out. BUT, I am okay with that. Why? Because my life is more important than 🍟. . They say you can eat all the kale in the world but if your mind and heart aren’t right you are never truly healed! STRESS , Anxiety, Feeling Overwhelmed and Overthinking are also big factors that affect our bodies. Sometimes we drift off of true self care because we feel like we don’t have time, we are busy worrying/helping others, or we allow life to get in the way. We must re-center ourselves and make sure our body and mind are aligned. . Moral of the story, pay attention to yourself, educate yourself, give your mind a break, fill your soul up with positivity and don’t give up on healing yourself. 💫YOU have to do it and have to be committed. L’As du Fallafel 🥙🌿 Met with an old friend over some tasty falafel at this super popular spot @lasdufallafel - people in line (out the door + 20 min wait) were telling us it’s the best outside of Israel! These MASSIVE falafel sandwiches were absolutely stuffed with a many mini falafel balls, a cabbage tahini salad, cucumber, fresh tomatoes & purple cabbage, all inside a lovely doughey pita 🤤 Honestly, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of hummus/tahini, it was a bit dry. However, there were a ton of flavorful falafels to compensate, but tbh weren’t as crispy as I like I would say it’s not really a traditional Israeli falafel spot with a variety of veg & diff ingredients in your warm pita + xxxxtra crispy falafel- maybe we just went during a super busy time? Nonetheless, the food was delish & very well priced! 8,50€ for this dank sandwich + a ton of other veg friendly appetizers & share plates!😍 . This street was absolutely full of Mediterranean restaurants & other falafel places! Can’t wait to explore more of the middle eastern food France has to offer! 🤩🇫🇷

Its officially two years since I moved to Colorado, one full year of owning a house in Westminster, and tomorrow I'm leaving on a road trip to visit Minnesota. ☀️ These past two years have been so incredible, full of adventures, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. 🗻 Of course I miss my friends in Minnesota, so I'm so freaking excited to come back and see everyone. 💗 I feel so fortunate that we live in the future, long distant friendship can never been easier to maintain with social media. 💖 Although I have to say, I cannot wait to see everyone!!! CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) 📣📣📣 . I had been putting it off for a while but yesterday I finally started Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and it sounds real fancy but all that CBT is, is weekly exercises to help you manage your problems and change the way you think and behave. . It’s commonly used to treat anxiety and depression and to be fair it isn’t for everyone but I wanna try everything possible to try and feel better. I like options so I can’t blame myself for giving it a go 🌿 . My initial preconceptions of it were pretty spot on that it’s all about self-help and identifying your problems and deciding for yourself how you’re going to tackle them. I enjoy the independence and the level of trust that is there. . The independence given requires effort, you get out what you put in. My only issue so far has been that part of the exercises you have to watch videos where examples of depression and anxiety are given and I’m watching them thinking “wow my depression is nothing like that, I’m not slumped on the sofa downing cans of Stella, is my depression not bad enough?” It may not have been intentional but the comparison I had drawn really got me down - got me feeling like I wasn’t deserving of help because my depression was so different from the man in the video. . On a brighter note it made it abundantly clear that depression shows itself in many different forms. I may not be in the same depressive condition as those in the example videos, but it doesn’t discredit how I feel. Para quem não come nenhum derivado animal, as opções costumam ser ainda mais restritas. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Só que em Cunha eu dei sorte: como fica numa região de clima mais ameno, existe muita produção de shitake, e também estava na época do pinhão. Então, em qualquer lugar a que fosse, encontrava pratos com esses dois ingredientes: pinhão cozido, caldinho de pinhão, risoto de shitake, pastel e pizza de pinhão com shitake, etc. Claro que o vegano tem que ter aquele cuidado básico de perguntar o que vai no preparo (o shitake, por exemplo, muitas vezes é refogado na manteiga), mas as opções eram fartas! Fiquei tão viciada nesse combo shitake + pinhão que fiz questão de trazer pra casa.
