So humbled by my practice right now. Stepping back into this body. A little injured, a little tight, a little less strong... but capable I know ... because I've been here before. The beauty of the practice is that it shows you your weaknesses in the most beautiful way. And regardless of what body I bring to the mat each day, there are adaptations and modifications that make yoga accessible... and then practice by practice, day by day, I feel it ... my strength growing, muscles lengthening, energy increasing, entire being softening, doubt melting away and I realise that many times we need these plateaus, injuries, changes to be able to embark on the most valuable journey there is ... to begin again #beginagain

Liz and I designed a 12 months training with passion for supporting teachers to develop their skills with mentoring, group support, a foundation in physiotherapy - informed functional anatomy and movement intelligence and a historical context for the yoga philosophy and it’s principles, which is not limited to one particular sequence or lineage. Yoga is an evolving science of the mind and body and the benefits of self awareness, and self- regulatory practices that lead to greater freedom from habituated and self- limiting thoughts and actions, while fostering physical vitality and emotional wellbeing. Our unique 350hr format includes; - a 2 week Immersion in Bali in November 2020 -6 weekend intensives -monthly mentoring support - three private yoga lessons - opportunities to assist and observe in public classes over 12 months. Still the most unique and coolest water nature experience of my life! No kidding - imagine floating down a mangrove estuary channel with the receding tide on the morning after a new/full moon, and then landing up on a tropical paradise beach for a Swahili breakfast, all laid out and waiting for you? Not to mention that it all begins with coconut palm climbing and a village walk at dawn. Every detail of this adventure has been carefully thought out by @watamutreehouse and the guides Kingi and Barak are so caring, knowledgeable and fun. Dear memories I hold in my heart! What do you collect? If I go to the beach I am leaving with feathers, rocks, shells, driftwood, sea glass, sea sponges, ropes, anything I find interesting. Always with the intention of making something with it our using it to decorate. I live on an island... so my car, bag, house is filled with these treasures. 😥 _ On my birthday I usually set an intention that I think will change my life in some way for the better. This year one of these was to practice minimalism (which I thought I already did)... One of my minimalistic goals is to move transform a room ( about 19' x 8' rectangle) into a studio apartment and move in before the year ends... _ That room is currently a storage space and boy, oh boy, clearing it out has not been fun for me. I am sooo attached to these things that I have I collected and every time my mom or sister suggest throwing them out I get so angry 😂 It's really weird seeing this side of myself. I have so many art and craft supplies from when that was a big part of my life but I haven't looked at them in years... _ Lately I have been leaving the room whenever I feel myself getting angry and now I kinda keep hoping I will come home one day and find it all gone 😳 ( this is not a request Joe!) _ As the full moon draws nearer I find myself getting excited (and nervous) about letting it all go. Nog 2 weken yogales geven en dan gaat het grote avontuur beginnen. 6 weken Vietnam. Het voelt heel raar om mijn yogapraktijk 6 weken te sluiten maar ik wil alles even los kunnen laten om werkelijk de tijd en ruimte te hebben om te reizen. Nieuwe ideeën op te doen, nog meer ruimte en stilte in mijzelf op te zoeken en natuurlijk heerlijk te gaan eten . Mijn droom is om naast het reizen ook een tijdje met mijn laptop op een prachtig strand in een hutje of huisje aan zee te verblijven.
