8 months ago I really started to care about what I should (and definitely should not be) putting in my body and on my skin due to hypothalamic amenorrhea. It breaks by heart hearing how many women go through this + cancer, disease and hormone imbalance that links back to poor nutrition and chemical filled personal care products. Now my skin has never been “bad” by any means but I have always battled with acne on my chin, sun spots + over all dullness despite a healthy diet and working out. This picture from yesterday (with no editing or filter) helped me visually see that certain diet + lifestyle changes make a difference! So what’s the secret? For the past 8 months, I’ve only allowed myself to use products ranked a 3 or lower on the @environmentalworkinggroup Online Skin Deep Database, removed all processed sugar, gluten, dairy & soy from my diet (most of the time) hey we can’t be perfect and increased vegetables to 6-8 servings per day, also enjoyed celery juice on the regular. My hope is to motivate you to care for yourself && live a healthier & happier lifestyle without sacrificing who you are at your core. Trust me I will never be the one to tell you that wine 🍷 or cake is off limits. My ultimate motivation stems from scripture— 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us that our body is God’s temple, a body we should nurture, love & take care of because Jesus paid it all on the cross. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says that whatever we do we’re to do it to the glory of God. We ought to desire to live our lives in a way that represents our faith! Taking care of our health is one way we can. Your health is an asset of your life, your perspective- it’s yours && you have the power to change it if you want! Day 11/30 #bccharcoalchallenge 30 days to clearer skin is complete! This salad was so refreshing after an afternoon of barre.
