Last week was a little nutty for me so I did all 3 strength workouts back to back Friday saturday and then Sunday (yesterday legs 😅) which means today’s progressive HIIT was KILLER!!! You can totally tell my form is completely compromised! That being said I did do a 40 min night swim right before! Gotta kick myself back into gear here 🤪

If you’ve spent some time on the weight floor— you’re probably familiar with the term PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD. If you’re not- stick around, bc you’re going to want to understand the intricacies behind it! ⁣ ⁣ My Hope here is that this info isn’t overwhelming but will make you think about the way you’re going about your own training. ⁣ ⁣ In order to see progress there needs to be some sort of progressive stimulus through your training that will make your body adapt to stressors and get bigger and stronger over time⁣ ⁣ So... how do we do this?! One thing I've come to realize when it gets to the end of the year is feeling my best or at least giving my best whatever that may be for the specific day, is way easier than not caring what I put into my body, not getting my activity in daily and eventually feeling bad physically and mentally because I didn't carry through my hard work into December. • I've had the Decembers where I throw in the towel and say who cares, I can start over in January. But when January came it was so much harder to jump start everything. The last 2 years I've changed my mindset about December, the holidays and how I want to feel...and come January you bet I'm ready for the new year. My body is ready to go now bevause I've never stopped. It's about what you do all year long not just a few months out of the year. • I don't expect that everyone wants to travel on their health journey like I do daily and that's why it's YOUR health journey BUT I also have a strong passion to help others realize that it doesn't have to be all or nothing. You don't have to wait for an arbitrary day (Jan 1) to kick start your journey. • I get it, that's a scary thought for some, thinking about making a change, worried about if it can work for you, worried about if it will all fall into place. Worries, anxiety, excuses, fears... they all will creep up but at some point you need to put your foot down, squash those thoughts and GO FOR IT! • You deserve to feel better. You deserve to gain back your confidence. You deserve to feel comfortable in your skin. And guess what... I'm not kidding when I say our whole family is getting a real kick out of this new addition to our home — the brand new Shark IQ Robot Self-Empty vacuum by @sharkcleaning. We've been calling it "Sharkie" and running it every few days to pick up all the leaves and things that make their way inside. The cool thing is that you can control and schedule cleanings from an app on your phone, and the vacuum empties itself in its dock — super high tech. . Brady has been following it around the house giggling, and Rudy has been doing his best to stay out of its way. I totally stand by this from @housewifeplus because I remember being around 8 or 10 and needing my mom but couldn’t express it, perhaps cuz I didn’t know what I needed. I recall that we were crossing the street one morning, and she placed her hand gently at the nape of my neck as we waited for the light to turn green. Oh how I could’ve just stood there basked in my moms’s nurture (which was rare) and stared at the red light for another hour. After the light turned green, I don’t even recall the next time she gave me the same nurturing touch maybe cuz she thought i didn’t need it. Anyway, let this be a reminder that all our kids, however small or big, need us. And it only takes a second to give your kid that little love nudge and it’ll stay with your kid longer than you’d think. . If you’re not following @housewifeplus, please do. You got to just start.💫✨ . . Just .... Start drinking more water. Start eating more veggies. Start going to bed a little earlier. Start walking. . . . Don’t think of changing your life over night. That is scary. Think of small baby steps you can take each day. When we set huge unattainable goals, that really are impossible to hit ( I’m talking losing 20 lbs over night. Or going from drinking cokes all day everyday, to saying you will never drink one again ), we get discouraged. Start learning. Set small goals »» like tomorrow I will go on a walk, then when you hit that goal you will start to build confidence. You will start to see that YOU can do this.... and it will make you want to keep going. . . Take it one day at a time. One hour at a time. I AM ... Two words that you can add anything to. Worthy, hopeful, grateful, strong, happy, grounded ... Today, I am Determined 💕 I very easily could’ve talked myself out of pushing play. I almost did 😬 But I have an accountability tribe checking in with their workouts, it’s really hard for me NOT to do the same! You don’t need a NEW year to start!! . Life is filled with beginnings. I mean people start things all the time. So why do we insist on waiting until January 1st, what makes it anymore special than today or yesterday or tomorrow? YOU can choose to start at anytime. You just have to WANT to! . Sure, I understand it’s the holiday season, but here’s your PSA for today: Christmas is a holiDAY not a holiMONTH! Don’t let one day dictate your life or keep you from making a change for the better. . The best 🎁 I gave myself was the gift of health and fitness. In turn, I gifted my family a better wife and mom. I found ME again when I decided to put ME first! . Working out from home and changing my nutrition has changed me for the better. I made the decision in November and lived through Thanksgiving and Christmas. Yes, I enjoyed myself. No, I didn’t have to give up foods that I loved, I just didn’t overdo it! That’s my #imperfectholiday, to enjoy without overindulging and making myself miserable. . You can do the same! Now’s the best time! Drop me your fave Christmas gif and let’s chat. A T T I T U D E ⠀⠀ This form is cringe worthy 🙈 But this is one of my favorite moves from my ballet class days...and the new workout program I’ve been doing! ⠀⠀ Called an “attitude,” you can hold your working leg either in front of you to work quads/inner thighs OR behind you to work the entire glute muscle...and it’s a great core stabilizer no matter which option you work! 🤗Great for postpartum recovery! ⠀⠀ Now just keep🤞🏻 that my attitude looks better after 59 more workouts 🤣
