How I helped my client B go from 5 surgeries after a devastating shoulder injury from a snatch, to confidently snatching 185# touch n’ go for 5 reps within a year and standing on the podium at wodapalooza ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Theres no doubt that B is an exceptional athlete. But there were some serious underlying issues we had to tackle to get these amazing results. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I first stated working with B He was in pain, stiff as hell and afraid of re-injury. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So ultimately, my goal with him was to 1️⃣ Have him develop more awareness of his current ranges of motion and understand what areas were weak and unstable 2️⃣ Increase his Thoracic mobility and scapular control to have those areas help the shoulder function with more efficiency 3️⃣ Strengthen the end ranges of his shoulder mobility to have him feeling strong in those “scary” positions ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Then, and only then, will the confidence come flowing back in… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So what techniques were used to help us get these results? 1️⃣ C.A.Rs (Controlled Articular Rotations)-this technique helped us understand where he needed to place more focus to build more joint strength and stability. 2️⃣ Active Stretching- this technique is to actively pull yourself into specific positions to help create a stretch. This is a powerful tool to help create longer lasting results. 3️⃣ PAILS/RAILS (Progressive/Regressive Angular Isometric Loading)- An amazing technique to feel strong and stable in those DEEP ranges of motion that are otherwise challenging to access ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the end, I was very proud of B and the results he was able to pull with my guidance. He worked hard, had goals and continued to push until he reached them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you’re feeling “stuck” and like you’re unable to progress because your lack of mobility is an issue. YES!!! I can do pull ups!! Of some sort anyway! 😂😂 Started some new training at this fab studio in Finchley to get out of my comfort zone and try something new alongside my yoga practice. Having played around with the yoga trapeze I knew I was not capable of any pull ups, but with a little helping hand of some bands & this fab trainer @ibi360fit this video shows my 4th set I did earlier today! Feeling grateful, satisfied & excited to get stronger with them.

Sumo Deadlift AMRAP 236lbs/107kgs x 18 reps Deload week is over! Started a new block where we are going to continue the same system in place, however, we are using a belt in this training cycle. Personally, I really wanted 20 reps but I started to feel a little tightness around my hamstrings and called it right away. Even though I really wanted that 20th rep, the goal is to still recover from the workout so I can continue to add weight to the bar. The rest of the workout was as followed: ✖1 set of Planks, gotta get back to working my core specifically. ✖Pause Squat Complex - 3 sets of 8 reps (first four pause below parallel, last four pause above parallel). ✖Chest Supported Rows - 5 sets of 15-20 (very little rest). Shaking in my converse but I did it 💪 wasnt expecting it either because I went on Tuesday for deadlifts and it wasnt looking good 🤣 I wasnt given up tho .. - Also thanks to the chalk, that came in just in time. I order liquid chalk. In my opinion I think it's better than the loose chalk. 🤷‍♀️ I only applied the liquid chalk once.
