💪🥊Training from your own home 🥊💪 This was Laura's 7th session with me and she has never done any sort of martial arts before. So I have been going to teach Laura 121s from the comfort of her own home and she is progressing massively we are starting to put more hips into kicks and knees to hit with more power and adding some elbows in aswell. ☃️ Elbows are really good for self defence because most of the time your fighting in close quarters if you get attacked outside it could be in a pub. In an alleyway. It's not always an open field to run away sometimes you have to defend yourself. Elbows and knees are a great tool for that as you can fire them off at very close range. It's important to be able to feel you can handle yourself, it gives you more freedom and comfort in this world that we live in. ☃️ The good thing with martial arts is that you can do it from your own home as seen here. Doesn't need to be a gym. It can be a park on a nice day. Your home. Your garage. You really don't need much space and you can get a hell of a workout and learn some awesome new skills and defence tools to add to your belt. ☃️ Fancy giving martial arts a shot? 💪🏼Plyo Progressions & Dynamic Movement💪🏼 When dealing with ACL rehab and return to sports, it is extremely important that the patient is thoroughly prepared to take on the demands they are going to be encountering in the day to day lives following completion of rehab. For a lot of ACLr patients, this is going to involve competing/ participating in an activity that requires a high level of effort. As rehab providers, it is our job to ensure that they are not only ready to participate, but ready to excel in the activity of their choosing. - As I like to tell patients, following rehab you should (ideally) be feeling better physical and mentally than you were even before the initial injury occurred. All my patients are taught day one the importance of improving the capacity of cells to absorb and produce force. - Here is a pretty typical progression of how I like to gradual improve an individuals force absorption/ production capacity. - 1. Lateral bound to Bosu push off 2. Forward bounding w/ added resistance from raptor 3. Box depth jump to lateral bound 4. Double plyo jump to “stick” landing 5. Sit start to single limb jump 6. 🙋 ¿ Conocéis la herramienta de Motion Guidance ? . 🔭 Consiste en la utilización de un puntero láser por el cual se obtiene un feedback visual inmediato durante la realización de un ejercicio🔝 . 🤓 Esta retroalimentación visual sirve al paciente para corregir u optimizar el aprendizaje de un patrón inadecuado, posible causa de un mal alineamiento, de un mal control motor, propioceptivo o neuromuscular. (Habría que estudiarlo 🤔) . 🕵 En este caso que os expongo (📹 1⃣) se ve cómo el cliente tiende a ladearse hacia su cadera derecha. 👉 Con la aplicación del motion guidance y con el feedback de "sigue la línea central durante toda la sentadilla" (📹 2⃣) el cliente, por sí sólo, fue capaz de reajustar su patrón para conseguir una correcta alineación 👏 . 🔝 Una herramienta muy útil más que se puede incluir en el día a día y encima con el plus de diversión 💪.
