I’m finally back in a consistent groove of working out and it feels SO good! Being in shape and STRONG is truly one of the best feelings. It gives you a confidence no one can take from you and it feels so great because you earned it! I was talking to my trainer today @michaelmyersfit and we were saying how looking and feeling your best is completely in YOUR control. There’s no one stopping you but you. Most days I don’t “feel” like working out, and I might even struggle and complain through it. But I still push through because I know the results are so worth it. Another successful day! • • • Not only did I make it to the gym (which is very important), but also I went to an interview for a position I’m SUPER INTERESTED in, and then I passed the DMV driver’s written test! 💪🏻🤘🏻 • Don’t get me wrong! I ALREADY have my driver’s license, I just moved states and now that my license is expiring I’m pretty much out of reasons to procrastinate and am forced to have to take the test again. • I passed! All is good! • Gym session was bomb too, recently someone brought up the Videos on Demand feature at my gym and I realize I don’t use it enough. So today it was put to use and it kicked my butt! • I hope you all are safe with the weather acting up and have a good night!

For best results: It's all about quality over quantity. When benching, squatting, over head pressing, dipping, pulling, lunging or hinging, you should be focusing on perfecting your technique throughout the whole set. Each and every repetition should be down to a T Whether you're doing a set of 3 or a set of 12, each rep should be on the money Also, you should be lifting as heavy as you can with continuous good form. Once technique begins to break, stop the set, rest a few minutes, and go again, but this time, either do a couple of reps less, or keep at the same rep range but take the weight down slightly As long as you're moving the weight from A to B well, with 8 or 9 out of 10 effort, then you're on the right track If you get to your last two reps with still alot more in the tank, then I suggest upping the weight, unless you're using that specific movement for rehab purposes or you're heavily pregnant If in doubt, always go focus on how good the movement is rather than how much weight you're shifting Guys in particular, STOP EGO LIFTING!! The more controlled the movement is, the more engaged and "turned on" your muscle fibres become, which results in higher metabolic stress, which also means quicker gains, and less chance of an injury When lifting, always think, QUALITY OVER QUANTITY! The correct way to perform the very common exercise: Kettlebell Swings. • Notice a few key things here. 1) neutral, straight, and therefore strong spine. Tim’s upper back does not round as the weight returns back towards the ground. 2) Tim controls the KB itself to swing very close beneath Tim’s groin. This is absolutely vital in preventing lower back pain when performing these because it shortens the range of motion of the KB. If he squatted down and swung from the bottom near his heel, it would mean there is a longer leaver when performing the swing and as a result, the weight would always be as far as possible from his body. A longer leaver means the load (KB) puts more pressure on his lower back. Thus lower back pain begins to occur. 3) Tim’s hips hinge backwards, similar to that of a deadlift. They DO NOT travel downwards as they would in a squatting motion. This is perfect because it allows proper hinge movement to occur whereby Tim thrusts his glutes with as much force as he can, and delivers that force created into the swing of the KB, meaning his arms do not lift the weight, they are just guiding the KBs path of motion. You should never fatigue from the shoulders or arms (OR lower back for that matter) when performing KB swings. • Are you performing these correctly? Jeg leger lige sæl og gorilla med nogle vægte 🦍😅 Efter at have døjet med myoser i flere år er jeg endelig ved at have fundet frem til de små ting, der kan afhjælpe dem eller holde dem mere eller mindre væk. Det var også lidt på tide, når det ikke lige er det fedeste at rende rundt med migræne og hold i nakken heler uden. - Styrketræning er en af de vigtigste ting, jeg gør for at holde mig fri for myoser. Især row varianter med stort bevægeudslag, som her i en seal row og gorilla row, men også andre øvelser, der bevæger skulderbladene, hvor de fleste af mine myoser sætter sig. Jeg udfører øvelserne i 3-4 sæt af 8-12 gentagelser, da lige præcis den rep range burde være god til myoser. Jeg har inden idé om hvorfor, men vigtigst af alt - det virker! 😌🤷🏼‍♀️ #rowvariations #backworkout
