Flashback to a couple weeks ago when I was leaner (after the long drive to MN). . . Now that I’m back on my permanent bulk, this picture reminded me how important it is to be consistent. For a long time I was afraid to eat enough because I thought I’d just get fat. So, I would “bulk” see some fat develop and back off again and try to build lean muscle. This resulted in me being permanently “skinny fat.” It wasn’t until I started eating for performance and focusing on STRENGTH that I started to make progress...and ended up looking better physically than I had when looks were all I cared about. Swipe left ➡️ - Quad focused leg day is the best day of the week 🙌 - I always start off with heavy squats and go through a few other movements, then finish with leg extensions for a filthy pump 👀 - A few tips for leg extensions: 👉Don't bounce the weight at the top of the movement 👉Use a full range of motion, and if you want to use partial reps to help isolate a specific quad muscle, save it for the final set and use it to burn out 👉Stay in control throughout the whole movement and resist the weight down during the negative (it hurts, but this is where you'll get the most gains) 👉Dropsets and static holds are a great way to overload the muscle

Lifting all the weights this improvement season! Swipe to see a few exercises I did for yesterday’s leg day. Squats: 265lbs- 4 sets of 5 reps each (last set shown) 5th set: 245lbs-5 reps 6th & 7th set with 225lbs- 8 reps each (7th set shown) 8th set 135lbs- front squats AMRAP (got 12 reps) Glute Bridges: 405lbs- 4 sets of 5 reps each (last set shown) Sumo DL: (I hate sumo lol..I prefer conventional DL) 315lbs- 3 sets of 5 reps each (Last set shown) Technique & form needs improvement on all lifts, but that'll happen with time & practice. For this off season, I not only want to improve my physique for Junior Nationals but I also want to get the most out of my compound exercises by having a more structured program.
