Getting those Autumn miles in 🏃🏻‍♂️ 2 Runs today totalling just shy of 8.1 miles at a comfortable 6:06 min/mile pace 👌 • And it does not stop there today! The post run workout was an achey one - 300 press up challenge (in 7mins 7secs), 2 x PRMC sit ups, 200 diamond press ups, 150 squats, 150 calf rises, pyramid press up challenge (another 115 press ups) and to cool down...5:30 min plank ✅ Will be needing my foam roller tonight 🙃 • Yesterday I added another 14.55 cycling miles (in 26:32 mins) to this month. I am aiming to complete 200 miles in total so still got some way to go...we will get there though! Along with another 3.2 miles to the running counter to add 🏃🏻‍♂️ • Finally, speedy running session and indoor bike tomorrow for some more sweaty miles 👌 They are not going to complete themselves you know...

In 2016, I decided to try running and 3 years ago today was my first race, a hilly 10k up the Hong Kong peak... Still one of my favourite photos 😂 shows how tough I found it plus, this is the reality of running, it isn't galm 😅🏃🏼‍♀️(I love how chilled and happy the guy in front is though!) I had no idea then how much running would help me and become a pivotal part of my life! I'm never going to be winning races or breaking records, that's not why I do it, but this day sparked something inside of me... It pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me the courage to keep doing so. Running is my escape but also my reminder to believe in my capabilities. I would have never gone back to University to do a second degree in a whole new subject area was it not for this race or running. So whilst I thank running for giving me the head space I sometimes need and for keeping me fit, I also thank it for reminding me I can do hard things if I try. We all can. Max, our cat, CLEARLY is cheering me on while lying on the floor. 😂 Yesterday I felt awful. Nausea. Terrible headache (almost a migraine). Achy. And just gross. 🤮 Today is a new day. The headache is subsiding. The waves of nausea are spacing further out. And I'm not as achy. Decided to sweat some of it out knowing it would be 100% okay to stop anytime because it's okay to listen to your body when it's telling you something important. Do you. And be proud of it. ❤

Hoy hace un mes corrí mi segundo maratón: @chimarathon Cosas que me dejó: 👉🏼Fueron 5 meses de entrenamiento y de cambiar hábitos que nunca creí cambiar. 👉🏼Deje de salir los fines de semana priorizando mi descanso por salir a correr sábados y domingos. 👉🏼Entre semana ya estaba en la pista a horas que jamás había imaginado [5:30 am]. 👉🏼Comencé a seguir cuentas del mundo runner porque obvio ni idea. Y para serlo hay que parecerlo. 🏃🏻‍♂️ 👉🏼Bajé 6 kilos. 👉🏼Me dio algo que ni siquiera sabía que existía: Periostitis tibial. 👉🏼Reafirmé que soy el peor para seguir ordenes médicas. La indicación: parar. A pesar de eso, me aferre (como siempre) y seguí entrenando. 👉🏼Ahora tengo más tenis de correr que zapatos. 👉🏼Perdí 3 uñas del pie derecho. 👉🏼La frase Nunca digas Nunca es real. Después de correr CDMX en el 2015 dije que no volvería a correr nunca más y heme ahí. Probablemente lo más complicado de correr un maratón es el largo y tedioso camino para llegar a él. Fueron semanas y semanas de entrenamiento, las cuales implicaron mucha constancia, disciplina y esfuerzo y cansancio. Aunque no llegué en mi mejor forma física, estoy contento porque pude correrlo y lograr mi objetivo inicial que era hacer abajo de 4 horas [PB 3:42:45] Al final el balance es positivo; hoy quiero más y seguiré intentando hasta lograr el tiempo que quiero. Gracias a @fersalazarcoaching Gracias @macropaulo @meli_pocket @isitarom16 y a la Dra. Lizet Ramírez de @sportperformancemx por las horas y hora de fisios, masajes y siempre alentar. 🔟 Miles Stronger 💪🏼. Easy Mileage in the books for Wednesday. Easy Aerobic runs like this help me recover from speed sessions like yesterday's 9 mile session 12x300 meters, and then pull ups/Deadlifts to follow it. I love easy slow runs because I can zone out, listen to a podcast or audio book and click off the miles. On runs like this I still use my GPS watch for log and measurement purposes, but I don't look at the pace or splits and just run really easy based on perceived exertion. Don't be riled by your watch. I'll take today off from the gym and work on some mobility/yoga after work tonight. Took the neighbour out for a run today as we both needed to shake out the frustrations and tiredness in legs.
