There’s only so many photos I’m gonna be able to take of the same run/work commute so here’s a photo of me and the only trophy I’ve ever won in my life 😅. . Monday’s are normally a rest day, but by getting all excited looking at my Ultra plan, I’ve been doing a bit of swapping about to fit everything in this week ✅. . Like a lot of people on here, I feel much calmer and more secure (if that makes sense) when I have a plan to follow. I have some really exciting things in the pipe line, so right now I’m feeling optimistic about what I need to do to get there 🌟. . Achieving 54 miles in 24 hours at Thunder Run this year is a nice reminder of what I can do. Unfortunately everything is on hold because my biopsy is tomorrow. From what I am hearing I'll be out for about 2 weeks to recover from the procedure. Nahhh..selain PB yang Personel Best tadi, ada juga istilah PB yang lain, yg ini sih di pas2in aja.. Poto Banyak..Hampir disetiap event,baik event besar maupun lokal akan bertebaran baik photographer resmi maupun photographer baik hati (besar amal kalian), yang akan mengambil foto kita saat sedang berlari (jika beruntung). Koq jika beruntung? Bayangin aja, bagaimana photographer bisa mengambil satu demi satu peserta yg jumlahnya bisa ratusan,ribuan bahkan puluhan ribu. Lagi pula, panitia tidak pernah menjanjikan akan mendapatkan foto peserta saat sedang lari,dan menyediakan banyak spot foto untuk bisa digunakan para peserta untuk selfie baik sebelum maupun sesudah berlari. Kalau dapat foto saat lari,anggap saja bonus. Nahhh..gelaran Jakarta Marathon ini selain PB waktu,saya pun mendapat rekor poto buanyak..bukan cuma banyak. Lebih dari 30 foto saya temukan dari berbagai link yang saya dapatkan dari wag,maupun yang memang niat mencari sendiri terutama dari facebook,karena emang merasa di foto (eehhh..). Buat yang belum mendapat banyak foto, jangan menyerah, event lari masih banyak, ayo daftar lagi. Kalau kurang banyak lagi, mungkin saatnya harus daftar yang jaraknya lebih jauh lagi. Kalau #katawowo (dia lagi kannn), daftarnya disesuaiin sama nama eventnya aja, kalau marathon, ya daftarnya marathon (ari maneh wo). Setelah sebuah event lari,biasanya akan sliweran di timeline singkatan "PB". Apa sih sebenenernya PB itu? Personal Best adalah singkatannya,jadi waktu terbaik yg berhasil dicapai seseorang, bila dibandingkan waktu terbaiknya sendiri. Ada juga yang menyebutnya dengan PR atau Personal Record. Biasanya banyak yg berlatih serius, baik sendirian ataupun sampai menggunakan jasa pelatih untuk bisa mencapai catatan waktu tertentu. Dan di Jakarta Marathon ini saya berhasil mencapai PB saya, setelah gelaran Pocari Sweat Bandung Marathon 4 bulan lalu, bahkan mulai km 15, 20, maupun 21, belum pernah saya mencatat waktu seperti itu. Bukan karena saya memiliki program latian sih, bahkan menjelang ajang kali ini,persiapan agak acak2an. Mungkin lebih kearah mental aj yang jauh lebih sadar dan siap, kalau 42k itu jauh tapi masih tetep bisa ditempuh (beneran..jauh).Agak keterlaluan jg sih kalau ga sampai bisa PB, baru 2x ikut full marathon,masa ga bisa perbaiki waktu juga. Lagi pula saya berhasil membuktikan sesumbar saya sendiri, saat ditanya kenapa lari di Bandung sampai 6 jam lebih. Jawaban saya saat itu cuma ”biar nanti mecahin PB nya ga susah” Bersyukur virgin FM saya bukan 4 jam (ga mongkiiiiinnnnn)..bakalan bingung saya gimana memperbaiki waktunya lagi (alasan aja,padahal emang ga sanggup). Bagi pelari lain,waktu itu pastilah ga ada apanya, tapi bagi saya..bahagia tau. Jadi..target berikutnya ? Este fin de semana conseguí mi primer marca en 600mp que me da gusto sin embargo ese es el límite que ahora hay que romper. 🔥 Me da satisfacción lo que conseguí sin embargo quiero más y para ello habrá que cuidar cada detalle como por ejemplo no rebasar en curva 😅me llevo el aprendizaje y buscaré concentrarme ya que perdí ritmo al intentar hacer eso y algunas posiciones. ¿Quien no comete errores? ¿Que es lo que queda? Aprender en este momento, esté presente continuo cambiante rico en experiencia y se que hay que estar con el enfoque en el aquí y ahora. Donde pones tu atención pones tu intención y al poner tu intención en algo haces que se expanda a tu favor. La mente-cuerpo es tan poderosa que te lleva a donde quieras 🔥 pero también está la otra cara de la moneda si no atiendes lo que el cuerpo está pidiendo las consecuencias pueden llegar a terminar con tu carrera, a esto me viene a la mente lo que Oscar Albar dijo ' tu mente extiende cheques que tu cuerpo no puede pagar ' mi recomendación es simple: ten un enfoque multidimensional, no solo se trata de correr rápido y entender el cuerpo físico, sino también de atender el ámbito emocional, psicológico y espiritual. Meet Brendan Martin (@bmartin28). He doesn't know this story (until now). When I was 12 years old in middle school, my older sister came home from school one day telling me she's interested in signing up for a local 5k road race and I should ask our dad to sign me up as well for the race. This was about three weeks after middle school cross country season had ended and our longest race was 1.5 miles (2.5k). Anyways, I ended up signing up for the road race and that race would go on to be my first ever 5k. Being the naive little boy I showed up on the starting line after not running for three weeks thinking I'm ready to take on the world and "crush it". Oh, I crushed it alright. Or... better yet, it crushed me. After doing what felt like a marathon, I ended up crossing the finish line of my first 5km in 19:44. I was young and ignorant. I had no clue about what that time meant as I well, knew nothing about running. But what I remember was during the award ceremony when they were calling the age group winners, they called out, "And second place in the 10-14 years old age group goes to... Foon Fu. And FIRST place in the 10 - 14 years old age group... Brendan Martin!" Oh man. I got booty whooped by this guy named Brendan Martin. He dusted me hard. And the awesome part? He was only a year older so when I moved up and into high school the following year, I had the luxury of staring at his back for about 2 minutes of every race before his figure would disappear farther and farther away into the distance as he whooped my butt for three more years. Oh it tasted delicious! Brendan would go on to compete for Columbia University. After college he ran professionally in Michigan with the Brooks Hanson's Distance Project before coming home to New York to become an incredibly established Physical Therapist and one of the best in Manhattan, all while still training/running full-time. I had an interesting workout this past weekend. I ran 8 miles with my partner because that’s how far his training would allow. I had better conditioning during the week so I went on for another 2 miles on my own. After finishing a 10 mile run, I took my nephew out for a 3 mile bike ride (I walked to keep pace with him). . While my preference is to do an uninterrupted workout, I will bend over backwards to include anyone interested in exercising. My health and fitness is my top priority, but being a champion of fitness may surpass that. Even if you are starting from zero, I will run slow next to you; I will walk next to you; I will rest next to you; I will do whatever you need me to do to physically and mentally encourage you to move your body. Wellness for the people in your life is just as rewarding as your own wellness. Manchester City half-marathon in the books!🤗I started off really fast and finished really fast, but I missed beating last year’s time by 1 minute 18 seconds 🤔 Ya, I was initially disappointed, and then I reflected on the race a bit. I thought about how I literally ran as fast as I could in certain sections and was practically salivating because I wanted it so bad! I gave it my all. That’s what matters most to me. Giving everything I do 110% best effort and nothing less. The numbers are what the numbers are. Sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down. You just got to keep moving forward. I can hardly walk today so I know I pushed it hard. I like that feeling. 🤗 That was the 10th race event of the year and I’m already looking for another one in December. When should you change your running shoes? 👟 If you go to a running store, they’ll generally tell you to change your running shoes between 400 and 500miles. Scientific studies show that running shoes may start to lose their shock absorption by 30% to 50% from approximately 250miles, but midsole materials will last 400-600miles or 6-12months (side note: shoes will lose their shock absorption after approximately 2 years just sat on the shelf). Some people will look at their outsoles to determine whether they need new shoes but this is a poor indicator because outsoles are built with long lasting, durable material that will outlive midsole support and shock absorption. TIP... when you buy your shoes calculate how much mileage you are planning on running and set a calendar reminder to check how your shoes are feeling at 500miles and start to think about an upgrade. Some people alternate between two pairs of the same shoe so they don’t have to keep going back to the store.
