No i mam, moje pierwsze, najdłuższe ultra - #110km 😀 Jestem bardzo szczęśliwa, choć nie mogę powiedzieć, że było gładko. Obawiałam się tego biegu, bo po 1. to pierwsza setka, po 2. pierwsza biegowa noc. Ale nie taki diabeł straszny 😉 Pierwsze 15km biegłam (oczywiście) z kolką, która na szczęście odpuściła, co pozwoliło mi poprawić tempo biegu, a kilometry spokojnie upływały w miłej i spokojnej atmosferze. Nocne bieganie okazało się bardzo przyjemne, temperatura wręcz rozpieszczała. I mogłam sobie spokojnie szurać od punktu do punktu, gdzie zajadałam pyszne przekąski, popijałam je ciepłą zupą. Wszystko było dobrze, po ok 80.km pojawiły się pierwsze bóle mięśni nóg, ale to nic nadzwyczajnego. Najgorszy dla mnie okazał się ostatni odcinek, który technicznie był prosty i na pewno byłby bardzo przyjemny. Ale właśnie tam brak snu dał o sobie znać najbardziej. Niemniej jestem z siebie bardzo zadowolona i bogatsza o kolejne doświadczenie i, mimo że wczoraj odgrażałam się, że nigdy więcej, dziś wiem, że mam apetyt na jeszcze. Well that didn’t go as planned. No PR, which I knew would happen, however I didn’t expect the race I had. I did pretty bad considering I’ve been getting under 2 hours in my Half Marathons. My time was 2 hours 12 minutes 😢😔🤦🏻‍♀️. The temperature wasn’t bad but the humidity was horrible... it was hard to breathe at times. Around mile 4, I started getting stabbing pains in my hamstring. It got worse every mile that I ran. Around Mile 9, I started getting intense knee pains. By Mile 10, I was crying and I just wanted to give up. I thought there’s no way I’m finishing this thing. And then I started getting more in my head than I already was. The race felt forever. It felt like no end was in sight. Some of the water stations ran out of water and I was dying of thirst. I never felt more happy to see a finish line in my life. I just wanted it to be over. I’m not smiling in any of the finish line or course photos... they show the true struggle I was going through. I’m so disappointed with today’s race and the finish time that I didn’t want to even put anything about it on social media. I don’t understand how in the beginning of this season, I was PRing every race, I felt like I was in the best running shape of my life. And then I have today...slow, body is in pain, had to walk, constantly in my head, and I felt like I’ve never trained a day in my life. It’s a very defeating feeling. I know that everyone has bad races, but this was very slow for what I’ve been doing all year. Pretty much sums up today's long run with @runderfulness . Tough, then happy, then swearing, then oooh sprinkler! Then tough again 🤷‍♂️ 20km today but it felt much, much tougher than it probably should have felt. Not necessarily the heat but a combination of heat, fatigue, headache, tight muscles, and the biggest factor was my mind playing sorts of games on me today. Lots of negative self-talk and my confidence really wavering when it was feeling tough just a few kms in and I couldn't hold my pace. Lucky that I had Vanessa with me to give me a pep talk and push me through those miles. Another long run in the bag for #TeamYu , put a check mark beside today's tough run, put it in the done column, and look forwards to this week of training! And on the positive side of things, a 67km week and it's the most miles I've put into a week in a while 🤗

Water.... The only thing flat on the Roseland. ⬇️ . Forty years old and today was my first ever trip to the Roseland coastal footpath. All this beauty surrounding me and I haven't seen a fraction of it. Part of my enjoyment in trail running this summer has been discovering more of the beauty my Cornwall has to offer. But in honesty I was warned but was still surprised how much elevation there was between Porthpean & Portmellon. Couldn’t be happier with how today turned out. 43:15 in my first ever 10km race 🏃‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The energy from the runners, the volunteers and the city itself was amazing. Over 8000 runners completed the course, how incredible is that? In recent months I’d lost my motivation for running, as the results on the track simply weren’t there but life has its ways of surprising you. I had so much fun this morning that I can’t wait to get back out there and do it again. @asicseurope @virginsport you smashed it 🙌🏻 #ASICSLDN10k

Got a great greeting from @michelledoreen_ and our little guy at the end of my run today. Always makes the end of long runs great to see the smiling face of my favorite human and wagging tail of our puppy. Put in solid efforts today during the long run first M pace set stayed around 6:36 average with a 5:58 tempo following. Second set was about 6:30 average and hit a wall on the tempo with a 6:16 effort. I got a couple messages this week asking why I put speed work into my long runs. It is all dependent upon the goals of the race you’re training for. Some runners only need to get the miles on their legs, where as other need to incorporate some up tempo work in their long run. For me, I have the endurance and raw speed from my 800m and Basketball days, but I need to work on endurance speed, therefore I incorporate them in my long run. Marathon pace and faster work not only accomplished this, but also help with a mental side knowing what I have held in training on race day! @chimarathon and @nycmarathon is coming in quick!

Longest mile to date for this marathon training block, and my training has just begun! At the advice of my coach, I paced the first 13 miles easy, and then ran the last four miles slightly faster with an average pace of 10:28. Temperatures were very warm, but no where near the fire hot temperatures other States are facing this weekend. Die langen Läufe sind mein Gehirn #yoga 😂 manchmal schalte ich dabei so ab, meine Gedanken springen hin und her...das ich erst 1,5k weiter merke, das ich wieder 1,5k hinter mich gebracht habe🤣🤭 Heute fiel es mir weitaus schwerer. Temperatur und Sonne taten ihr übriges...wer hätte gedacht das ich mich über Gegenwind freuen würde🤪 Diesmal haben wir vorgesorgt und auf der Hälfte der Strecke haben wir uns einen Eiweißriegel geteilt...allerdings konnte ich trotzdem die ganze Zeit nur an die Pommes denken, die ich zu Hause machen wollte😜😋 The long runs are my brain #yoga 😂 sometimes I turn it off, my thoughts jump back and forth ... I only 1,5k further notice that I have again brought 1,5k behind me. Today I fell much harder. Temperature and sun did the rest ... who would have thought that I would be pleased about headwinds? 🤪 This time we have taken precautions and on the half of the track, we have shared a protein bar ... However, I could still only the whole time to the fries think that I wanted to do at home😜😋
