According to The GORDAN model, I statements have three different components. 1. Non blameful description of behaviour you find unacceptable. 2. Your feelings 3. The concrete effect of this unacceptable behaviour on you. This is how an I statement works: "I feel ___________, when you do or don't do _________ because I think it means that ___________." Example: "I feel belittled when you talk to me in that tone because I think it means that you do not respect me. BREATHING EXERCISES 💭 Deep breathing is a great way to reduce stress or to recentre yourself if you are feeling anxious. Focusing my mind on my breathing has helped me feel peaceful and mindful. Here is a breathing exercise I thought I would share. It is called the 4 7 8 method. Inhale for 4 counts through your nose. Hold your breathe for 7 counts. Exhale through your mouth for 8 counts. I have noticed that a lot of people use the terms

STRESS VS. ANXIETY I have noticed that a lot of people use the terms "stress" and "anxiety" interchangeably. These terms are however two completely separate terms with completely different meanings. STRESS: Stress is a reaction to a specific demand that one feels like one cannot cope with. Stress consists out of 3 phases. 1. Fear or alarm response. This is our initial response to stress. 2. Resistance. This includes how we cope with stress. 3. Exhaustion. This is when stress has reached a chronic level and it is detrimental to our health and daily functioning. ANXIETY: Anxiety is a FUTURE orientated mood state. That means, that anxiety concerns itself around future events. It is persistant worry about an event that has not yet occurred. Anxiety often causes physiological arousal in a person. Anxiety is self aggrevating and can be stopped with RATIONAL THOUGHTS. Anxiety is, however, difficult to control and it does impair one's daily functioning. I hope this clarification on stress and anxiety helped you! If you suffer from severe stress or anxiety I really encourage you to go to therapy.
