הצליל העתיק והקדוש ביותר #הודו הוא #אום, המסמל את המוחלט. הוא נתפס כצליל פעימתו של היקום כולו. האום מכסה למעשה את כל קשת הצלילים מה"או" הפנימי והגרוני ביותר עד ה"מ" העיצור האחרון והחיצוני ביותר. בכך הוא מסמל את כל קשת הבריאה כולה, את כל קשת הידע שניתן להגות במלים. הדממה בסוף מסמלת את הידע שלא ניתן להעביר במלים. האום מורכב משלושה צלילים : אה, או ו-מ ועוד צליל נוסף שהוא בעצם העדר צליל, כלומר, הדממה שלאחר ההגיה. תרגול המנטרה אום: נסו לשנן את האום קודם בקול, אחר כך בקול שקט מאד, בהמשך באופן מנטלי ולבסוף תאפשרו לעצמיכם לשקוע אל תוך הדממה ולחוש את תנועתה של #פראנה בגוף שלכם. The sound considered most #ancient and sacred in #India is #AUM which symbolizes the absolute. It is considered to be the sound of the beat of the entire universe. The AUM covers the full range of sounds from the innermost A to the last outermost consonant M. In this way it symbolizes the entire creation which can be expressed with words. The silence in the end represents the knowledge that is beyond words. So the AUM is thought of as having four sounds the A U and M and the sound of silence which follows. LETTING GO // . . I started with therapy, which helped me identify some important stuff and when I started working on my connection to my body and breath, it was like stringing together pieces of me I’d lost. . . Prana relates not just to energy or breath but to the entire process of nourishment, absorption, elimination, distribution and expression which our nervous system (NS) is a regulator of these very same processes. And there are five-fold prana called #panchavayus operating in oversee those same functions of the NS: 1) prana rules incoming nourishment e.g. inhalation, ingestion and incoming experience 2) apana rules outgoing waste e.g. exhalation, removal of waste and release of experience from mind 3) samana rules assimilation of nourishment e.g. responsible for gas exchange in lungs, digestion and assimilation of experience either positive or negative 4) vyana rules distribution of digested material e.g. mamages distribution of oxygen to every cell and of nutrients to the whole-body, and absorbing an experience into the physical body as emotion, feeling or memory 5) udana rules outward expression e.g. controls the expression of speech or outward movement of air other than exhaling like burping, coughing. Use of energy from food to act and perceive the world. Acting in the world in response to the way we assimilated or absorbed an experience. Thus from a yogic point of view, the discussion of the NS begins with prana. In scientific terms, NS fires electrical messages to neurons via synapses to direct the body to perform its various operations. Through diligent and sustained yoga practice we become sensitised to the subtler forces around us which play a part in our lives regardless of whether we pay attention to them or not. On a personal level this may be a recognition of your moon cycles for women taking time to slow down when your winter stage is in, or making the most of your cyclical summer. On a more encompassing scale this could mean paying attention to the scared natural laws for farming, working seasonally and not relying on chemical products and modified produce. Either way big or small if we repeatedly ignore this energy of shakti eventually balance will be restored wether we like it or not. Energy has no morality, no preferences, it is perfectly equanimous so if we are not in alignment with it, if we turn away from our natural human experience in favour of subjective heady realities, eventually ‘paying attention” won’t be a choice.
