Hey you! Ya you, our awesome follower! Whether you’re new or old around Revival, chances are you follow other health related accounts. With so many people, saying so many different things, why should you follow/trust the stuff we say!? Because we practice what we peach… . All jokes aside, we know there’s thousands of health professionals out there. Many certified and up to date on the many different modalities of health. HOWEVER, we also need to realize there’s a very (highly aesthetic) popular population that will say anything for a dollar…Take this diet pill, try this detox tea, lose 50 lbs in 30 days, eat nothing but fermented cumquats to get a 6 pack, etc, etc . We do our research, we study, we get the credentials/knowledge, we’re always learning. This isn’t a ego trip. What we’re trying to say is do your research about who you listen to. Can they back up what they say? (For locals interested in yoga.) So....some truth. I’m not your “typical” yoga teacher. I don’t chant. Don’t usually refer to poses by their Sanskrit names (except when they make me giggle, like “titibasana”). Don’t do Ayurveda. Don’t really buy into essential oils as medicine (but they sure do smell nice). Don’t follow a vegan, or any other type of diet. Terrible at self-promotion (which is why I lasted in real estate precisely three months). I don’t even practice yoga every (damn) day! But...I am passionate about the physical practice, I believe it’s a blessing and a benefit and a conduit to self acceptance/improvement so I like to add it to my week when I can (lately, as a supplement to trail running, or simply running after my kids). I KNOW I want to practice mindfulness and gratitude, always (not at all easy for me, but forever goals), and I enjoy my fellow yogis (so much!) and consider it an honor to practice alongside and guide their time on the mat. If you need a guru, look elsewhere. (Like, waaaay elsewhere!) But if you love to laugh and play and commune and sometimes even rock out in a yoga class, while working on strength, balance, flexibility, breath, and self-acceptance, consider joining us! My teaching schedule: Wednesdays at 9 am, Studio L (@studio_l_wellness) in St. Helena, and Fridays at 9 am at Calistoga Fit (@calistogafit). This business has taught me hundreds of things but if there’s one that I can wholeheartedly preach the most it is ‘stepping out of your COMFORT ZONE’ (say it louder for the people in the back) I would never have the confidence or guts to ever take a pic like this. But I did and guess what I feel great about it. If you don’t step out of you bubble and jump for new opportunities then you won’t get very far. You have to step out of that comfort zone and take the chance. It’s going to be scary, it’s going to be nerve wrecking, you will feel butterflies, it will be hard. But it will be so worth it babe. The increasing aches and pains that you feel as you get older or not because of age, but more because of lack of movement. The saying “Use it or lose it” it applies to your body muscles and bones also. Although there are some changes to our joints and tissues as we age, we can remain remarkably flexible and free of pain by doing simple daily activities such as stretching and walking. I am usually one of the older people working out in my boxing classes and circuit training. Usually most of the people who are working out are half my age! But one of my trainers, @dustfish remarked that it’s actually more important for you to work out and keep moving as you get older! He is absolutely correct! So start simple, take a walk after lunch, take a walk while you’re talking on your cell phone, get a stationary bicycle that you can ride while you were watching television, etc. Whatever it is, just start moving today. I got this tattoo 10 years ago when I was in the midst of finally breaking free of the first layer of demons surrounding my thoughts and soul. I got it after reading @thesecret365. I realized the secret to manifesting the life of our own dreams was to first think the thought. That wasn’t enough though. That thought needed to be felt on every level of existence; as if you were already living it. When you master the feeling part, it’s only inevitable to believe. The truth is, your subconscious mind doesn’t know dream from reality. The only way it knows the difference is in how you feel about it and what you believe. After you can live with every vibration of your soul as if your dream has already manifested, then God and the Universe work to create that dream and actually manifest it. Easy enough right? Ha! For a long time I forgot this concept and forgot that I was in control of my life. I was lost. But then I found myself again, and now I’m really working to put these four simple but impactful words into reality with my life. I had no idea how those words would put me on such a journey and how it would be the key to really making my dreams into a reality. Constantly a work in progress. It’s challenging work, but 1000% worth it.

✨be honest with yourself✨ __ On this episode of #transparenttuesday im gonna share a whole lot more than usual. And no, I don’t mean about my grief or my day or how at home fitness and honing in on my nutrition has helped me TREMENDOUSLY. . . I’m gonna share with you, some truths that I didn’t want to speak aloud to MYSELF or my team because....quite frankly, I’m embarrassed. . . So. If you choose to read this, cool. But please know that this is not easy for me. I mean none of it is easy....but it is quite simple. . . Ok. Here goes nothin’... . . I SAY I’m gonna send the girls in my groups an email to check in and update them...and I don’t. I have my reasons for not doing so — the fact that it will take TIME and being organized and I’m a perfectionist so i want things done RIGHT....which often means they get postponed. A lot. . . Three ladies, including myself, got in on this last months’ #splitthepot. That’s Two. Other. People. And that’s it! Kinda embarrassing huh? . . It’s 2pm and I STILL. Have yet. To do my workout (or write in my DAILY deposit). And MORNING is in the NAME of the program! 😂🙈 . . I ate a yogurt bowl at 830pm last night (after eating a whole lot of homemade🥰, meal plan approved 🙌🏼 turkey chili!!) while hosting a call to help myself and other coaches use time intentionally. And ya know what was in that yogurt bowl? Coconut oil. (Obvi!). Graham crackers. Unsweetened coconut. And....Chocolate. #practicewhatyoupreach giiirl!! 🤦🏻‍♀️ . . There are 60+ girls in my online 2019 Fit Club. And yet...I hear from maybe 8 of them...MAYBE!....on a consistent basis. . . You guys!. Sometimes, actually...every now and then....we need to reassess, ADJUST what we’re doing and find something ELSE that works. . . I have gotten BETTER wirh managing my time and I absolutely LOVE the extra rime with my baby girl. But it’s time to Level Up. To stop SAYING things and start DOING them! Like reaching out to my girls. All of them. And letting them know that I’m here showing up, and that they should be too! We all need a little #supportandaccountability 👏🏼👯‍♀️ . . . . . . . . . #thelivewellcrew

I practiced ahimsa (non-harm) this morning in my hot yoga class. It’s funny how I catch myself wanting to please the teacher with how well I can do things or maybe prove to her that this is my thing😃. Lol...not that she’s focused on just me (ego) with a room filled with other students. Oh’ how we get caught up in the ego. I just notice and come back to the practice, “my practice...” backing off when I need to and honoring a body that’s fighting an infection. Some days you give it your all and then some. Strap assisted stretches. ♥️ I’ve posted a couple of deep hamstring/frontal hip openers with a strap around a pole and there have been a lot of questions as to how I got there. So, finally, I made a video showing my process. Any sturdy post will do, as long as it’s not too big for the strap or too skinny to support a solid shoulder width grip for the hands or arms.
