“Yoga takes you into the present moment, the only place where life exists.” Guys I must say, I cannot wait for the foot to be okay again so I can walk, drive, practice, and just be a normal person again. It's been 5 weeks 🤭 But in those 5 weeks I've been learning a lot about #mindfulness and practiced being more aware of the present moment as the day goes by. Turns out it's REALLY hard 😅. Try it. How long can you keep your mind focused on what is going on RIGHT NOW without thinking about the past, or making plans/dreaming about the future? And it doesn't have to be a meditation practice, you can do this in the car, at work, when you're shopping...anywhere really. Today is my monthly visit to this beautiful chestnut tree in the park. There is a storm front moving in tonight so, as is typical in our area, the temperatures are warmer today and the wind gusts have returned. Now, the last of the dried leaves are being teased off the branches. It’s like there are little blizzards around many of the deciduous trees. 🍁 There is something humbling about standing in a tree pose in front of a stout hardwood tree in the midst of this changing weather. Perhaps it is an awareness of the changes about to come. Perhaps it is simply being unplugged for a few minutes. Whatever it is, if you haven’t tried it, please do so soon! This gem of a human is teaching TWICE this week! Healing Hatha on Wednesday and Friday at 12pm!! ⠀ ⠀ Dive deep into stillness with traditional hatha yoga. The yoga of balance; "ha" meaning sun and "tha" meaning moon. Through the use of dyana (meditation), pranayama (breathing) and asana (posture) our practice will nourish the physical body and support peace of mind. Show up for yourSELF, tuning into your body-mind connection and finding deeper receptivity to your inner and outer environments.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Monica is a 200 hour registered yoga teacher and entrepreneur. With a background in human movement studies, she is always on the go. She spends much of her time exploring the great outdoors with her adventure pup, Henry. She is a devoted practitioner of the yogic lifestyle, on a continuous path of healing. Instead of fighting or succumbing to life's many pains, she embraces it and works with it. Over time, learning how to be present and deal with discomfort. The obstacle isn’t something standing in our way. It’s the way itself. Learn how to sit in your stillness, and you will have a skill for life. She believes that yoga supplies us with the power to shift perspective, gain control over thoughts and reactions, and raise our vibrational energy.
