Well this was a fun little back and forth. Ended up top setting my deadlifts at 425x3 on a 2 inch deficit. Threw in zercher squats to tax the midline and taxed it was. CURRENT PROGRAM & 30 MORE. The Tactical Strength Challenge is looming around the corner. In addition to working on kettlebell snatches, Iโ€™ve been trying to progress everything else. Paused Deficit Deadlifts - I made this about as hard as I could to reduce the weight used. Iโ€™ve been using heavier Trap Bar Deadlifts on Fridays to get more volume and acclimate my body to the strain of the grind, but I wanted to work on my strength off the floor here without excessive loading twice per week. So far, Iโ€™m tolerating it very well. Z Press - I still want to bro it up and improve my overhead press in case I try to get after strongman again. The seated version keeps my technique honest and I find it easier to maintain the stack between my ribs and pelvis. RFE Split Squat - Iโ€™m not doing as much squatting, but I still want to maintain leg strength. Single leg exercises are great for taxing the muscles without the heavy nervous system burden of squatting. Landmine Row - these are my favorite variation. Hanging abs - The TSC requires a set of max pull-ups. I need more time hanging on the bar. Plus the overhead position keeps the bucket handle up (something I struggle with) while my hips move under me. We'll be starting a powerlifting team at Strength Union! I'll be the head coach and here is what being part of the team entails. Coaching hours from 5-7pm on M/T/Th/F. During this time I'll be in the gym giving the team feedback on their lifts and chatting in person about fitness related subjects. Comprehensive programming with a 4 day split. Sometimes we will be running an upper lower split, and sometimes we will be running other splits. You get access to a Facebook group to post videos of lifts (if unavailable to lift during team training hours) and ask questions where myself @kayliebaby_ifbbpro and @tonymontgomeryjr will be able to answer them. The price point is $125/month which also includes 24/7 gym access @strength_union. Current level 2 members at strength union can switch over to the powerlifting team for no extra charge until 9/22/19.
