Exercise: Romanian Deadlifts • Primary Muscles being worked: Hamstrings & Glutes • Performing a dead lift has a risk of injury if you do not perform the exercise properly, with the right amount of weight for your ability level. Below are cues and suggestions to perform a stiff-legged barbell deadlift correctly. • Cues: 1. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. 2. Hold the barbell with your palms facing you. 3. Bend your knees slightly and maintain that slight bend throughout the exercise. 4. Hinge at your hips as you lower the barbell keeping your back straight (sticking your butt out) until you feel the stretch in your hamstring and glutes. *keep the barbell close to your body* 5. Slowly straighten your body back up (while keeping that slight bend in your legs). • Suggestions: 1. Start off with performing the exercise without any weight at all to get down the movements. 2. Add a low weighted barbell to start off. When picking up a barbell make sure to bend your knees to pick up- avoiding hurting your back. 3.
