I first started my fitness career at the tender age of 18 as a personal trainer. I loved it INSTANTLY. Personal training clients brought me an incredible amount of meaning. To help people become healthier was an honor and being trusted to guide people towards a better life through fitness was humbling. Over the years I became a relatively successful trainer with a full schedule and a high hourly rate, but more importantly my clients valued what I did for them and I valued them as people. I did this in one form or another for over 20 years. Some of my clients trained with me for 15 years! Mind Pump has a large personal trainer following (shout out to all you trainers...you are the life blood of fitness) and we often times get asked what makes a personal trainer successful. Passion is definitely a factor. If you don’t feel that getting people healthy is part of your purpose on earth then it will be difficult to find success as a trainer. Aside from that, the single most important thing that will ensure your success as a trainer is HOW you communicate. As a trainer you have a tremendous amount of fitness and health knowledge compared to your clients. You know what they need to do to get fit and healthy. But it’s TOUGH to get them to truly make real life changes. Your job is less about how much great knowledge you know and more about how well you can SELL what you know. You HAVE to get buy in. It’s not about inspiration or motivation either. It’s about being able to identify what a client can REALISTICALLY change now and how you can get them to truly “get it.” If trainers spent 1/2 of the time they spend on getting new certifications and education on learning how to communicate, they would find big time success. If you can communicate one piece of important knowledge effectively to a client so that they actually implement your knowledge then you have made a real impact. How you communicate is just as important or even MORE important than what you say. Every business model has an expiry date . . One of the main points I have been making for years in regards to the personaltraining business is that every trainer needs to find a business model that works for him and his target group at a given time . . When I opened the YPSI in 2010 - see picture - there were no PT Gyms in Germany that had Dumbells, Bars and Plates. Over the last decade opening a #Personaltraining #Gym and giving one on one PT session has becoming a trend. A trend I am very happy about and enjoy to see. Yet, opening a PT Gym and giving one on one sessions is not a business model thats gonna work for every trainer. And technically, its not supposed to work for every #trainer . . Find what works for you at a given time is crucial to not only become a successfull yet also a happy trainer. It might be one on one PT for you, it might be online coaching, it might be group training, it might be bootcamps, it might be home sessions, it might be consulting work or it might be some model that noone is doing right now . . When I opened the YPSI it grew to me doing 55 to 60 PT sessions per week within months.  The next step was hiring trainers to take on more clients. And then I started to push the Before’n’After Program our consulting service in 2012. Which then evolved over a few years to myself doing almost exclusivly the consulting work and 3 trainers doing all the PT sessions at the YPSI.  We also offered group training for a 3 year span that worked well and then was eliminated due to the high demand in personal training. And of course the education part of the business has been developed every year since its start in 2012. . . And in the last year I went a step further and even reduced the PT sessions to less then 10h per week with a full focus on consulting and other projects. . . #Business evolves. Business models evolve. It is crucial for every trainer to find what works for one at a given time for a given target group. Don’t get stuck with one idea. Re-assess and re-adjust constantly. As the only constant is change. And finding the right model for yourself is the foundation of becoming a successful and happy #Personaltrainer.

The difference isn’t due to crazy dieting or ridiculous amount of exercise 🙅🏽‍♀️ The difference is due to increasing my calories and changing my workout routine 🥑🏋🏼‍♀️ On August I stopped eating meat and increased the amount of carbs I’m eating. 🍝 I’m currently eating 250 to 300 grams of carbs/day. Also I changed my routine: last year I was focusing only on compound movements, now I’m doing both compound and isolation exercises. I weight 2 kg more than on September, I have a little more of cellulite but I feel and look stronger 💪🏻‼️Do not not waste your time doing exercises that aren’t going to achieve your goals! Train smarter, not harder 🤓 and nourish your body with the right nutrients it needs 🥦🍞🥜🥩

COMING SOON: Macro coaching/Personal Training! Beginning January 2019, I’ll be offering a few different options! (Keep an eye out on my stories and posts for updates!) First thing that will be available will be ONE TIME macro packages - this will be the cheapest option (obviously). It’ll just include your macros based on your stats & goals, some basic tips, but no check ins, etc. Next will be 1:1 coaching with weekly check-ins, etc. I’ll only be taking a handful of clients for this as of right now, where I already have a FT job (with rotating shift work), among many other things going on. Last will be sometime hopefully in January 🤞🏽, 1:1 personal training in a LOCAL facility. Again, updates will come as it gets closer! I’ll be posting an email for serious inquiries only before the end of the month!
