Paryankasana known as Couch Pose in English is an intermediate back bending asana and is a continuation of Supta Virasana (where the back is flat on the floor). To be able to perform this Asana you require good flexibility in the ankles, knees and hip joints, as well as the quadriceps, which will allow you to feel stable as you lie down backwards and simultaneously arch your spine. Without proper stability in the lower body, the legs can spread too wide as the body reclines backwards, which could compress the back. This Asana mainly works on stretching the ankles, knees, quadriceps, hips, spine, abdominal region (stimulating the internal organs), chest (improving breathing capacity), neck (activating the thyroid and parathyroid glands) and shoulders; strengthening the spine and increase blood supply to the brain which in turn helps relieve stress and calm the mind. . . Please note that while attempting this Asana you should not feel or apply any pressure on the neck, the crown must rest on the floor purely for stability and balance and not for supporting the backbend. If you do not have the flexibility or strength to hold the backbend, you could use props or a bolster under the head and the upper and lower back areas and still receive the same benefits of the posture.

Day 104. Happy Sunday Funday. Today has been a great day. Soaking up a relaxed rainy day off on the island. Woke up early this am, walked my dog, ate breakfast and went back to bed and I gotta be honest that post breaky nap was glorious. Mood is back to normal, anxiety is gone, and feeling more balanced today. So with this energy I Crushed an insane leg day. Blasting the best of Tool throughout the entire workout for the full send. Man I forgot how talented these guys are, and I found a couple new tunes from their old stuff and loving the new album. To be honest I haven’t listened to them for forever and then they released their music on I music and well it’s been bliss since! Anyways, a huge part of my training is maintaining my body. I do this through stretching, yoga and essentrics. This is something I’ve emphasized and practiced from the very beginning. I do a blend of all three of these after every workout as well as utilize the roller to roll out my back, shoulders and legs. This routine helps prevent injury, helps with repair and healing of the muscle and body ergonomics. I will be utilizing the roller to help my back flexibility as with bikini the posterior arch pose causes some discomfort for me with previous back injuries but so far so good. Anyways, one of my fav stretches is the paryankasana or couch pose. This opens hips, relaxes the lower back and releases your stress within the pelvis. Such a good relaxing posture. So daily grind continues with check ins Tom am. Program switch up Tom, time to fill out this lean bean and add the perfect volume for that perfect package!! It’s gonna be magical. Día 19 es un ejercicio tipo “perdón???”. De estos que según ves la foto y lees la descripción piensas”pues no parece tan difícil como lo cuenta, vamos a probar. Y acabas muriendo en el intento (de hecho, estoy escribiendo el texto antes de elegir la foto y no se bien que poner porque cualquier parecido con el objetivo es pura coincidencia). Día 20 #RajaBhujangasana. Quiero más. I need to experiment and repeat repeat repeat some 1000 more times and see what happens. Day 20 #RajaBhujangasana. I just can’t get enough.
