MONDAY SWEET CRAVINGS | Low carb Vanilla & Coconut Truffles. It's not about elimination, more substituting the sugar for something just as good but without the high carbs, calories & fats! Slightly heat 60ml coconut milk & 50g coconut oil in a pot over low heat. Add 200g desiccated coconut, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract & 3 tbsp maple syrup, mix well. Transfer to a container and refrigerate for 1 hour. Once batter is firm, forma around 10 balls & roll them in desiccated coconut, eat straight aelway or store in fridge. Please give yourself full permission to L I V E Y O U R L I F E this summer. Some of you may be thinking that you really didnt need me to tell you this, but for others, this reminder is actually very necessary and important. This time of year can be a little challenging for individuals with body image insecurities. It's a time of year where many feel they need to constantly be killing it at the gym and eating more restrictively than they normally would. Don't get me wrong, I am not against wanting to look and feel your best. On the contrary, it's literally one of the main aspects of my job! I fully encourage it. But it has become super clear to me that B A L A N C E I S C R I T I C A L and when perfection is the goal, feelings of inadequacy are inevitable. I used to beat myself up if summer rolled around and I didn't feel I was in the best shape I had been in all year. But, honestly, I just don't have the time for it anymore. I'm nearing 30, and I have come to realize that I spent way too much friggin time feeling physically inadequate. And guess what?! The whole time it was all just smoke and mirrors. I am now trying to make up for lost time, and I don't have a single moment to spend comparing myself to fitness models on instagram. (Not that I have anything against that kind of content, it can be super valuable for me at times - I LOVE learning new moves and getting different workout ideas) Here's what I'm trying to say: Get to know Y O U R O W N B O D Y. Be flexible. Discover which foods work for your body and which foods do not. M O V E your body every day, whether that's a yin yoga class, lifting heavy, 5 mile run, HIIT, walk in the park - whatever! Enjoy your favourite foods with your friends and family. Laugh every day. Go outside. Throw your garbage in the bins and stop trashing the parks (I know none of my awesome followers would do that but yall can tell your friends). Call your friends (I need to do that ASAP). E N J O Y every moment this summer. Do what makes you feel good and dont waste your time feeling less than perfect because YOU'RE DOING GREAT SWEETIE.

Let’s talk greens! The best way to get your nutrients in is by making sure to add in greens as often as you can with meals. If your looking to increase your fiber intake and help to alleviate gastric indigestion or increased acid in the gut lining at meal times eating dense nutritious greens is the way to go! My suggestion is to aim for colour on your plate, this will mean we are consuming a variety of vegetables. . . Why? Our immune system often needs more support during this time of year, and heaps of veges will help prevent sickness due to the density of vitamins and minerals found in veges / salad. . . Happy gut = happy mind. Having plenty of fibre which is super easy to obtain when eating loads of veges, helps to create a healthy happy microbiome in our gut. The vagus nerve produces serotonin (happy hormone) in our gut, so a healthy gut promotes optimum amounts of serotonin ☺️ . . Food and mood. Shorter darker and cooler days can bring on a suppressed mood (I’m lucky that Brissy isn’t too gloomy!) Keep your training routine going to ensure you are tapping into your mood positively that way, and go for meals that can be ‘comfort’ meals > aim for slow cooked meals or casseroles and aim for a greater quantity of vege to protein and grains / carb 🙌🏻
