I never played sports growing up. I was never part of a team or knew what it was like to have teammates. But since joining @Teamprophysique last year I have finally gotten to experience the support of a team. I have met so many amazing teammates both in person and via social media. We cheer each other on. We support and encourage each other through prep and offseason alike. It’s an individual sport but having a team like this behind you makes you feel like you are part of something so much bigger! Today, I did front raises with alternating dumbbells, & also with a single plate. (Not shown) I also did a front raise on my knees as shown in video 2, slow on the way down. IT KILLED. As you can see, I like traps. __ half my videos were like black today so this is what we got. __ 1️⃣ is definitely going to target your rear delts, (the most), but every part of your shoulder is working 2️⃣ traps 3️⃣ front delts as it’s a shoulder press 4️⃣ rear delts! Loved this move. 5️⃣ cable side to front raises, my freaking favorite to do. Traps and lateral!! 6️⃣ targets your side delt. Started doing these last week with dumbbells and tried it today with the cables. Rant time.. - - I keep seeing people posting things saying “team no days off” and it makes me roll my eyes sooooo hard. Who perpetuated this myth that if you rest you are weak? If you take a break you are taking steps back? - - This saying is dumb for multiple reasons. 1) Everyone takes a day off every now and then. Stop saying things that aren’t true to seem cool. 2) If you truly never take a day off or minimal days off - you are probably doing yourself more harm than good. Bodies need time to recover. Lifting literally breaks down your muscle fibers.. if you never give them a chance to rest and heal you won’t get stronger and you will run yourself into the ground. WORK SMARTER NOT HARDER. - - Moral of the story.. rest when you feel like you need it. Don’t let social media people make you feel bad for not grinding as hard as you can every fucking day. Topic of the Day: Intermittent Fasting and why it's so awesome! Intermittent fasting is not a “diet” in the conventional sense of the word, but following a food pattern of fasting and eating. The length of the fast can differ, depending on what each person prefers, but each type yields very similar results.(view my blog for various fasting lengths) The reason fasting works for weight loss is because you’re condensing the length of time in which you eat (eating fewer meals), therefore automatically reducing your caloric intake...That is if you aren’t going over board during the window in which you're eating. Fasting creates several changes in your body that can not only help you lose weight, but with your overall health and wellness. However today I’ll stick to why it can help with weight loss, since that is the most popular reason people begin IF. When you fast your HGH (Human Growth Hormone) levels skyrocket, which can lead to fat loss AND muscle gain! Following an IF eating pattern also helps to regulate and lower your insulin levels, which helps make stored body fat more accessible. IF will increase the release of norepinephrine, which is one of our bodies natural fat burners. With all these positive changes in hormones its very common for your resting metabolic rate to increase by 3.5 to 14%. You will lose weight, your metabolism goes up, while you unknowingly eat less. I’ve been asked recently if you can lose fat while still gaining muscle at the same time. The answer is yes, you can. To build muscle, you need excess calories (especially protein) to be available to repair the muscle and therefore, build it. To lose fat, you need a caloric deficit, usually of about 500 calories a day to burn 1 lb. of fat per week. So how, then, can you do both a caloric excess and a caloric deficit at the same time?! The answer is simple. Before and after your workouts are the best times to consume the most calories, mainly because your body needs energy for your workout and it also needs calories for recovery following the workout. So consuming more calories around the time you exercise will minimize the amount of excess that would need to be stored as fat, because it’s going to be used by the body. (I’m not saying go order the whole in n out menu right before and after your workout but just up the calories a bit 😂) For the remainder of the day, calorie intake should be more limited to create the caloric deficit needed for fat loss. And if your lifts stay heavy, and you keep up with HIIT training, you should have no issues building muscle while also shredding some of that fat! 🔥 Now obviously this is kind of just a guideline and as far as number of calories and what foods those come from, it’s different for everyone. I’ll give you the macro breakdown! 😁🎉🙌🏽 ☀️PROTEIN: Seared Tuna ☀️HEALTHY FATS: Avocado, Black Sesame Seeds ☀️CARBS: Japanese Sweet Potato “fries” (not pictured) ☀️MICROS: Everything above 👆🏽(der) + Asparagus, Shiitake Mushrooms, Fermented Ginger 👉🏽Not mentioned: Shredded Iceberg Lettuce! Iceberg lettuce really doesn’t add much nutritional value as it’s mostly made of water 💧 When making a salad I usually opt for leafy, nutrient-dense greens!!! 🥗 I chose it on this occasion as basically a “filler” for when I’m dehydrated & in need of more volume ☀️So happy to do another #whatsonmyplate FINALLY! I developed a lot of digestive issues and was not confident at all going into the show. If I’m competing, I’m competing to win 🏆🥇 - After i stopped competing, i fell in love with powerlifting. What a freakin feeling training to be able to lift 3x my body weight. I’m honestly truly devastated i won’t ever be able to do that again, but it is what it is. I owe A LOT of my growth to powerlifting and heavy lifting in general. I’m working slowly to close to my previous strength and it’s taking longer than i would have liked, BUT WE GETTIN THERE. Baby steps. - 2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣9️⃣ May be a stage comeback year for me 🙋🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Less than 24 hours out. Placing means very little at this point. I have zero doubts or regret about the effort I've put in leading up to now and that feels amazing. ‼️ACCOUNTABLY POST‼️ I have zero problem showing my before and afters...but ONLY if I’ve accomplished the “after”. I’ve done figure and physique competitions and I’ve gotten in the most amazing shape post baby number one. This time, I’m starting with my before and posting it too!!! It’s starting to show that I’ve neglected my fitness goals and on Monday I started a 30 day “cut” so I’ll feel more confident in a bikini. I’ve realized, that’s NOT the right reason to start. I need to take care of myself. I know working out consistently and choosing healthier options other than goldfish and wine for dinner has been my biggest downfall. And yes...I flexible diet...BUT I need to tighten up a bit on my choices. Just because I CAN fit them, doesn’t mean I need to. I can 100% tell that my energy levels, mood, and focus is definitely related to the foods i eat and the amount of exercise I do. Long story short.... Progress is progress, eh? After just digging myself out of my house. Yes, my bedroom doorknob broke this morning and I had to sit with a blade, and old scissors to take the knob off to get out. My boss didn’t believe me, Skyped me, laughed at me, and said I’ll see you in a few hours. BUT. I got out on my own because who need men? 🤣 - - It did make me realize though. Not everything is going to go how you want. I ended up NOT getting on stage when I had assumed because my body was revolting against the last few weeks of prep and I was losing my mind. So, instead of rushing for something I wasn’t prepared for; I re-evaluated and am taking a different approach. - - This morning, I could have called someone to help me out. But I exhaust ALL options when it comes to solving a problem before phoning a friend. - - Be strong. Be resilient. Think outside the box. And #beundeniable 📸 @pointenshoot805
