Santosha: contentment. Fullness. Enoughness. Coming towards the end of the year, this is what I have been centering my classes around for this month and I try and meditate on it myself. This has felt like an incredibly long and packed year and of course there are still many things I wish I could have done or accomplished but I have to remind myself to sit down, look around, be present, be grateful and thus: santosha. I am beyond excited that this weekend is coming and that our beautiful @soul_tribes will be opening its doors. Friday the 13th we will be hosting an open house and then classes kick off on Saturday the 14th with our beautiful visionary @alexandracharles86 teaching a 9am Bloom (vinyasa fundamentals) class and then I will teach a Thrive (all levels vinyasa) class at 10:30am and more classes to follow! This was the weakest I’ve felt in awhile. Halfway into this flow I realized I’d hardly eaten anything all day. I didn’t mean to, I’d just forgotten. Since starting my eating disorder recovery, I’m usually very intentional about eating and fueling my body, so I hadn’t felt this way in so long. It was kind of a good reminder that food is fuel and that calories are energy. To some people that may sound simple, but if you need that reminder today, calories are not evil. Food is not your enemy. Your body is your friend and food is it’s nourishment and medicine. Your body is going to do the best it can to be there for you no matter what, like it always has. But if you want to have energy, you have to eat. 🍇💪🏼

In the days before the Full Moon, I’ve created a small little ritual of staying with myself, observing my thoughts, reflecting and journaling. I write down all the things, feelings and behaviors that I want to release during this powerful time and than meditate on it. On my way to London ✈️ What is it that keeps me comming back? I love every piece of it, its atmosphere, its people,... but mostly its yoga community! Here I realized the power of yoga not only on my body but also on my mind, and that changed me.. I started comming every day, cycled 1 hour accross the city to be there and practice with my teachers, who also inspired me to eventualy take that step and start sharing my experience... Psychology says that anger is a secondary emotion that is triggered by other emotions like fear, frustration, hurt, jealousy, hatred and rejection. Without rationale, all these emotions are just manifestations of the ego. All Yoga texts talk about taming the ego. However, Yoga doesn’t ask us to stop feeling the emotions that trigger anger.
