How was your weekend everyone? Wish you a nice week ahead and dream something sweet ... how about this Ancient Bridge in sunrise? This famous bridge is called Double Dragon or better known as 17-Arch, located in Jianshui County Yunnan Province 云南建水双龙古桥. . 🇨🇳INFORMATION🇨🇳 This ancient bridge is located 210 km south from Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province. The ancient city wall of Jianshui was built for 600 years ago in Ming Dynasty. Today only Chaoyang tower at East Gate and Qingyuan tower at West Gate is left standing. Each morning, elderly people meet with their birds at Chaoyang tower, to listen to the bird’s singing. . Double Dragon Bridge is located to the west of Jianshui County, 17-arch stone bridge spans on the joint of the Nanpan River and the Tachong River, which zigzag like two dragons, therefore it was named Double Dragon Bridge. . The bridge was constructed with only three arches in 1800s during Qing Dynasty and took many years to complete with only a few sections able to be completed every year. It was made up of ten of thousands of bluestones with 148 m in length and 3-5 m in width. . On this flat bridge there are 3 unconventional- sculpted n appropriate-arranged traditional Chinese pavilions, from which tens of thousands of acres of farmland can be viewed while the wild southern landscape rises and falls. . Double Dragon Bridge to this day is still hailed as a masterpiece of traditional Chinese bridge-making and incorporates all the classic components of an ancient Chinese bridge construction. It is evidence of the technological development in ancient China and the fact that it still stands today is a testament to its durability. ⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊ 📍Photo credit: @hayley_ 📍Selected by: @linas_travelphotography ⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊ #LOVES_CHINA #china🇨🇳 #china #中国 #ig_china #igerschina #instachina #chinatravel #travelchina #visitchina #discoverchina #mychinagram #bridge #yunnan #lijiang #jianshui #kunming #双龙古桥 #beautifuldestinations #yangshuo #guilin #liriver #zhangjiajie #suzhou #hangzhou #chengdu #chongqing #yuanyang #reflections #hayley_lc ⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊

❄Snowing in Beijing❄when it is raining in Shanghai. For the best panoramic snowing view over Forbidden City, climb up to the middle and highest pavilion at Jingshan Park located on the backside of Forbidden City 由故宫后身景山公园的正中/最高亭观赏故宫雪景, 是瞭望全画幅景致的最佳选择. . 🇨🇳INFORMATION🇨🇳 Forbidden City, situated in very heart of Beijing, was home during very long time to 24 emperors from Ming (1368–1644) to Qing (1644–1911) Dynasties. . The construction of the grand palace started in the fourth year of Emperor Yongle of Ming Dynasty (1406) and ended in 1420. . In ancient times, the emperor was said to be a son of Heaven and therefore Heaven’s supreme power was bestowed upon him. The emperors’ residence on earth was built as a replica of the Purple Palacewhere God was thought to live in Heaven. . In 1961, Forbidden City was listed as an important historical monument under Chinese central government special preservation. . In 1987, it was nominated as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. The Palace Museum is a treasure house of Chinese cultural and historical relics. . It is recognized as one of the most important five palaces in the world (the other four are the Palace of Versailles in France, Buckingham Palace in UK, White House in USA and Kremlin in Russia). ⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊ 📍Photo credit: @loic.lagarde 📍Selected by: @linas_travelphotography ⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊ #LOVES_CHINA #china🇨🇳 #china #中国 #chinalife #ig_china #mychinagram #igerschina #instachina #chinatravel #travelchina #visitchina #discoverchina #beijing #beijinglife #instabeijing #snow #yangshuo #guilin #xian #zhangjiajie #故宫 #streetphotography #forbiddencity #beautifuldestinations #北京 #cityview #streetview #symmetrical #loic_lagarde_lc ⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊

The PuXuan Hotel and Spa in Beijing — overlooking the Forbidden City, fifteen minutes’ walk from Tiananmen Square, and nearby the Wangfujing shopping district. Not that there aren’t plenty of reasons to stay in, too (two restaurants, a spa, and the inner sanctum that is the PuXuan Club). There's a lot going on. 📸:@thepuxuanhotelandspa . . . . . . #puxuanhotel #puxuanhotelandspa #puxuan #beijing #beijinglife #igersbeijing #forbiddencity #instabeijing #captchina #mychinagram #instachina #loves_china #boutiquehotel #luxuryhotels #beautifulhotels #hotelsandresorts #loves_planet #beachesnresorts #luxuryworldtraveler #luxwt #livingonearth #ig_china #loves_travel #mystopover #bestdestinations

I travel out of a duty to my curiosity. I have found that the more curious I am, and the more I follow that curiosity, the more the world rewards me. This is the primary policy at the heart of why I go, start things, or meet new people. It is what brought me to China over and over and over again.⁣ ⁣ China has been good to me from the first day I set foot on its soil. I have watched it boom and explode over many visits. I have watched skyscrapers grow like weeds in an untended lawn. I have watched from my perch at trade shoes, in art studios, and in noodle houses and been moved by the momentum of its people. Thanks for opening the door China. ⁣ ⁣ 139 views of China.⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #china #中国 #beijing #pekin #chinese #beijinglife #instachina #mychinagram #instabeijing #베이징 #timeoutbeijing #Traveling #Travelers #Traveler #Exploring #Explorer #Wanderer #Wanderlust #TravelBug #travellog #travellifestyle #travelingram #travelingpost #wanderful #wanderingphotographer #wanderlusters #travelguide #culturetrip #travelislife #travelista

. . . . . . #huanglongxi #成都 #chengdu #sichuan #四川 #china🇨🇳 #ig_china #igerschina #instachina #chinatravel #travelchina #visitchina #discoverchina #mychinagram #travelasia #chiny #🇨🇳 #unlimitedchina #ancientchina #chinaphotography #chine #captchina #chinatrips #loves_china #chinalife #topasiaphoto #beautifulasia #chinagram #cina #igchina

Getting back in Sanlitun (Beijing) after 3 years from my departure I found it very changed: many little bars and restaurants closed or changed their location and it is becoming more and more commercial than before. Fortunately, this nice spot that reminds our beautiful Mediterranean houses, remains almost the same ❤️ #beijing #china #travel2china #discoverbeijing #discoverchina #livechina #house #white #whitehouse #cina #window #courtyard #myyard #mytrip #mychinagram #beijingtrip #beijinger #building #architecture #architettura #greece💙 #greece #mediterraneo #oriente #asia #bar #restaurant #mediterranean #italy #santorini

The Ancient City of Dali in Yunnan, China is currently getting a makeover with commercialisation trumping every other aspect of redevelopment - i.e. preserving authenticity and heritage of the local environment and minorities is pretty low on the agenda. We witnessed the same story everywhere we went in China. Even though we looked hard for untouched and authentic corners in far flung provinces it was very hard to find anything that wasn’t over commercialised already. However, even without speaking Mandarin, we did eventually succeed in finding a few gems that still escape the major tourist trails and the pervasive commerce that follows. Weibao Mountain, a short drive south of Dali, still fits that bill. It is a quite and spiritual mountain and although modern infrastructure has made it quite accessible it still remains free of gift shops, rows of food stalls, and tour groups with blaring megaphones. The hill walk is dotted with beautiful Taoist and Buddhist temples of different eras and is frequented by the older crowd who seek peace and reflection. Quite often we found ourselves alone on the trails and in the temples, which we found quite unusual in the most populous country in the world. This is the best we could do without speaking Mandarin and without being able to drive ourselves around China (the government does not recognise foreigner driver’s licenses, not even an international permit). It made us wonder what the best approach would be to see authentic and unspoiled corners of this fascinating country. We would love to hear about your experiences if you visited China and/or if you speak Chinese. How would you go about creating an authentic off-the-beaten-path itinerary for China?
