When you turn the steering wheel to the left, both wheels turn left and when you turn the steering wheel to the right, both wheels turn right. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The knees are a great indication to see if the hips are moving fluidly and in a reciprocating pattern. When one leg will rotate inward (internal rotation) while the other rotate outwards (external rotation). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Imagine if you turn your steering wheel to the left and only the driver side wheel turned left while the passenger side turned right. You’re going to end up severely hurt. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Same thing applies when we walk, run, swing a golf club, swing a tennis racket, throw a punch, etc. We needs to be able to reciprocate energy to each side of our body. If it doesn’t, your body will find another way to do so, resulting in injury.

The foot feeds the hip. It has 26 bones, that’s about 1/4 of the bones in your body within 4 inches of the ground. What strategy are your athletes taking to create torque in the ground based off of your cues? I have found many times athletes creating the “claw” to create stability based of the cues I was giving of three points of contact and creating torque into the ground and if I didn’t take their shoes off I would have never noticed. Splay the toes and use the whole foot to create torque into the ground. The foot feeds the hip. • Happy Thursday. • • • I have been absent on here posting for a while. I have been going through a lot lately. I wanted to share this personal note with you. The reason for that it is okay to be demotivated sometimes. It is impossible for us to be 100% on it at all times. For me, the important thing is that I don’t let that become a habit. I still do my trainings and practice. Even they are light exercises. Exercising keeps us healthy in the mind and the body. If you are ever feeling stressed, demotivated and lack of energy, exercise anyway. Go for a walk, swim or stretch at home. It is okay! It was Bill’s 95th birthday this week 😮 I asked Bill what is that secret to his youthfulness 👶🏼 he reminded me that he is still mobile with a 1 point stick and lives completely independently so what allows him to do that is the fact that he still gets out and about to Planned Activity Groups to socialise and be involved in a range of activities 🚶🏽‍♂️ He also told me one secret is his passion for the @westernbulldogs as he looks forward to watching then play and collecting all their merch (e.g the crochet 🧶 shorts) This hobby and strong interest has contributed to his Active Ageing 💓💪🏾 #occupatiobaltherapy #geriatrics #community #eldery #activeaging #mobility #mobilityaid
