I’ve been thinking a lot about the things I don’t share here. I’ve chosen to show up in this social media land and you all know so much more about me than I do about you. I’m okay with that. It’s not what I planned, but it’s how I keep moving forward. There’s stories in me that I would like to share but do not yet and sometimes it eats at me as being deceptive, leading you to believe that my emotions never waver, I have my shit together, I’m never intimidated or fearful, and my life is immaculate. None of those are true. Some days my heart aches enough that my body feels it, I’m quick to tears, overwhelmed by disorganization and house uncleanliness, nervous about teaching, unsure that I’m a good friend, worried about my ability to parent, and fear that I’m too self-centered. I guess I want you to know that we’re the same. And we need each other. We might be little ahead or behind each other in things, but that makes you my teacher. I know I have no obligation to tell you anything, but know that I’m choosing to show up here as real as I can in every post and story. I could not have predicted the ways being here has blessed my life, the way you have blessed my life. Thank you for accepting, challenging, and inspiring me to be a better human. -B

Today I’ve begun AGAIN a daily meditation practice. I think it’s the different thing. Join me?? — Some apps I like for meditation: -Insight Timer -Calm -Headspace — Remember that meditation can be done anywhere: in the car while driving (eyes open!), at your desk, in bed, sitting, standing, kneeling. I really enjoy simple meditation where I pay attention to my breathing the entire time. Set a timer and BOOM you just breathed for 5 minutes. I’ve been trying to say ‘THANK YOU’ more than ‘SORRY’, so that “Sorry for talking your head off so much” can sound more like “Thank you so much for listening to me” 🧡🌈 . The idea is that at the end of a big day I will have less to feel anxious about. Even a simple rephrasing like that can make all of the difference in helping you to remember you don’t need to be sorry for who you are. . Today I got a beautiful response after I said thank you like that to someone. She smiled & said “That’s OK, I really enjoy listening to you!” That simple response meant less anxiety & a better connection with someone. What a gift from me to me, & from her to me ☁️ . So here’s a little reminder for tonight: You’re not a burden, none of us are. You deserve to take up space in this world, & you might be surprised at just how many other people would jump up & down to agree with me about that, & at just how many people enjoy who you’re being right here, this very second. xoxo 🌸⚡️

Love your wobbles. If you let them, they’ll make you strong. Watching the wobbles in my ankles has taught me as much if not more than anything else in my asana practice. Those wobbles have occupied my mind on days when I needed to get out of my head. They’ve taught me that I don’t stand with even weight in my feet and that (like many people) I need to press into the mound of my big toe in order to feel stable on one leg. They’ve taught me how to lift the muscles around my inner ankle to feel steady in my lower leg. They’ve taught me that weakness is the greatest teacher, that practice works and that even when the body is strong, when the mind wanders, those wobbles will get the better of me. Beyond flexibility and spirituality - yoga has more to offer ⭐️ From today’s blogpost (link in bio): Yoga is multifaceted, my guess is that we can all agree on that. From the mystical and tricky-to-grasp aspect, where existential questions are being asked, to physical poses where you place your foot on your head. I know that many wants to argue that yoga is one or the other. I am convinced that yoga is both, but also much more than that. A specific part of yoga that gets too little attention, if you ask me, involves movement control. Which involves both technique, focus and body awareness without, for that matter, mixing in spirituality and / or large ranges of motion and flashy poses. Or do more of us struggle to do it so using a new word will re-enage us? ...to be more present, focused? in our hectic lives...🧐🤔. I hear this a lot "I was trying "x" at home but wasn't sure if I was doing it right" 🤔 There is no right or wrong in movement 🤔 Enjoy exploring.🕵️‍♀️ Enjoy concentrating. Being present.
