Changing out our flouride water filter today someone wanted to learn. So we talked all about the different parts and what they do. He was fascinated and just had to examine it WITH a flashlight, lol. It reduces #flouride (a neurotixin), #chlorine, #lead, #heavymetals like #mercury, #copper, #cadmium, and other contaminants like #microplactics. Then in the bottom of the water container (not pictured) there are handfuls of #Maifan mineral stones. Yes, there are big rocks in my water filter, lol. They have been used medicinally for centuries, and help to #remineralize the water after all the contaminants are filtered out! They give us naturally occurring organic minerals like #calcium, #iron, #magnesium, #phosphorus, #zinc, #selenium and other #micronutrients. Fun fact #1: most water filters will filter out contaminants but then leave you with "dead water" because it has also been stripped of the vital #organicminerals that our body needs. Fun Fact #2: The body can NOT absorb inorganic minerals. That is what is added to most bottled waters that say "added minerals for taste". They are giving you a false sense that you are getting the minerals when they clearly state that they are for "taste". Just like artificial sweetener are for taste... they do absolutely NOTHING for the body. Don't fall for it. Fun Fact #3: The body is always trying to maintain balance of acid and #alkaline so it will pull these vital minerals from the bones and other areas to maintain this balance. But today, the standard american acidic diet makes that increasing hard, resulting in a lot more #bonedensity accidents (fractures & broken bones) as well as #osteoporosis at earlier ages. In remineralizing the water it also makes it more alkaline and allows the bones to keep the essential minerals they need to remain strong and healthy. After my first @barrysbootcamp this nourish bowl was exactly what I needed. Went to @bluestonelane and had their salmon Buddha bowl, it was so fresh and delicious 🥰 It’s supposed to be 98 in NYC today and I think I might genuinely melt. What are y’all doing to stay cool?? 😁 My face when there is a huge pizza in front of me 🍕⁠ .⁠ I love me a good pizza! However, this is also an exception. On average, I eat pizza around every 8 weeks. I mean, it's just tons of carbs with usually plenty of fat and a few veggies to sugarcoat the bad conscience 🤣⁠ .⁠ Well, it's not thaaaaat bad ;) However, I prefer eating "clean" as best as I can and pizza doesn't really fit that category.⁠ I personally unfollowed quite a few accounts on instagram that had too much of a bodybuilding thing going on where cheat meals were basically being celebrated and stuffing deep fried food, donuts and burgers was a cool thing. I get it, it's yummy! And it's ok if it happens sometimes and if you then celebrate it. But I think it's totally misleading for the "average person" who is just trying to look fit and be healthy.⁠ .⁠ Also, there is more than macros. There are micronutrients for instance that are crucial for a healthy body. Think vitamins and minerals. VEGETABLES:⠀ . 2 tbsp ground nut oil⠀ 2 cups shiitake mushrooms (cut into thick slices)⠀ 1 cup Baby corn (cut into halves, long ways)⠀ 1 cup Sprouting Broccoli (cut into long slices)⠀ 1 Red Peppers (thinly sliced)⠀ 1 large Red Onion (thinly sliced)⠀ 1/2 cup cashews⠀ . SWEET ’N’ STICKY SAUCE:⠀ . 2 tbsp sesame oil⠀ 4 cloves garlic (minced)⠀ 2 inch ginger (minced)⠀ 4 tbsp brown sugar⠀ 4 tbsp rice wine vinegar⠀ 2 tsp cornstarch (mixed with 1 tsp water)⠀ 1/2 cup soy sauce⠀ 2 tsp Sriracha (more if you like spice)⠀ . TO SERVE:⠀ . 2 cups basmati rice (cooked)⠀ . GARNISH:⠀ . Finely sliced scallions⠀ Sesame Seeds⠀ . METHOD:⠀ . 1. Pour the ground nut oil into a wok and warm it up (make sure it's nice and hot) 2. Throw the cashews and the red onion into the wok and stir them round until the aromas of the onions have been released 3. Add the mushrooms to the wok and cook them for 3-4 minutes so the cooking process is underway and they've begun to sweat 4. Add the rest of the vegetables to the wok and stir them round so they start to cook⠀ 5. Take a large mixing bowl and transfer the vegetables from the wok 6. Pour the sesame oil into the wok, add the garlic and ginger and cook them until the aromas have been released and they're bubbling in the oil 7. Add the brown sugar to the wok and stir it around until it’s caramelised 8. Add the cornstarch, soy sauce and rice wine vinegar, stir them until the sauce has thickened slightly⠀ 9. Add the Sriracha and stir it into the sauce 10. Pour the vegetables into the wok and stir them round so they're well covered in the sauce, warmed through but still al dente 11.
